In this area, the lower elevations are grasslands with some juniper, while the upper elevations are ponderosa pine-covered hills and steep drainages interspersed with meadows and scoria outcrops. In the distance you can see the Big Horn Mountains and Devil's Tower. With 7 miles of roads and trails, this area is popular for hunting, hiking, and ATV-riding. And you may even see mule deer, antelope, elk, turkey, and eagles. Of course, if you want to hunt in the area, you'll need to get a license from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Camping is permitted, and campfires are allowed (unless banned because of high fire danger) but must be kept under control. No water is available here. The entire Weston Hills Recreation Area is a limited use vehicle travel area. This means that motorized vehicle travel is limited to roads and vehicle routes marked with "white arrows." The "ATV Loop Trail" is closed to motorized vehicles from September 15 to October 20 so as not to disturb wildlife before and during the big game hunting season.
