Great hike! Some steep parts but nothing a 11 and 13 year old couldn’t handle! Saw a rattle snake, and scorpion but didn’t mind them and they didn’t mind us!

The trail itself is very easy, flat, and wide. It offers two great, wide open views towards the middle and at the end. You don't get a very good view of the lower falls from the main trail, so if you can, I would recommend taking the side trail down.

To get to the edge of the lower falls, you need to do quite a bit of moderate scrambling on an open-faced talus field. It gets pretty steep, but if you are able, the view of the lower falls is fantastic right from the edge!

One of my favorite places while living in Idaho -- haven't been on this trail since 2016, but the views never disappoint! Be aware there is a per car fee, $5 a day (unless recently gone up), but don't let that deter you!

I've been on this trail 3 times with my family. It's super easy to follow and lots of fun. There are amazing views and lots of informational signs along the way.

Fun short hike, easy to access.

It wasn’t difficult! Carried our 1 year old in a carrier and it we made it just fine. Short and fun hike! Really pretty.

Great hike, beautiful views!

1st half is paved. The loop is not and is a little more difficult. We took a wagon and a stroller and made it ok.

This is a beautiful trail with, diverse scenery along the way. Only reason for giving it 4 stars is that its pretty popular and can get congested at times. Also when backpacking, good camp spots and firewood are a little sparse.

Super pretty view once you get to the top. Not too hard not too easy!

My wife and I love this trail, it’s our go-to when we want to go hiking on short notice. A fairly easy hike with a beautiful view and some excellent rock formations for those who like to go a bit off trail.

I took my kids today and it was raining but we still loved it. great hike. I'll be back next time I'm visiting.

Very easy, to the point of being kind of boring.

Loved the hike! only complaint was the dog poop on the beginning of the trail. Definitely coming back though!

Steep accent, sandy in places but a varied hike. There are Three trails to choose from on accent. One is to the left of the main trail access and is appreciated by those who want a leg workout since it is all sand. Once on top, you can choose to go left or right around the ring and have a different adventure either way. To the left you find many ways to trek over rocky formations, to the right is a wonderful wind bowl that is amazing to boulder around! Then there is the middle trail that gives you a closer look at the geological wonders of the Butte. I’ve hiked this trail about 20 times and it is different every time I go! I’ve taken teens and children and if they are persistent and you go slower for them it is a great adventure and easy to get to.

beautiful scenery and very easy. accessible walk. if you choose, there's a steep incline that reaches a cluster of boulders which is a great vantage point for viewing the river.

This was an amazing hike. However, like quite a few other reviews, we lost the trail. We ended up climbing down the Butte down and walked around the base of it. An adventure for sure. Went in early morning of Spring.

It was a great Sunday activity. The main trail is super easy, there are also some trails that go off which were a lot of fun.

I absolutely love this hike! The view once you get to the top is incredible and the hike itself is very rewarding. This is a GREAT training trail. If you’re planning on going in a much longer harder hike, this one is perfect to get into shape on. 2 miles to the top all uphill. If you make the full loop at the top, be prepared to climb quite a few rocks. The last time I went I did lose the trail on part of it, but if you’re willing to do some basic bouldering then you’ll be totally fine. I wouldn’t recommend taking small children on this hike. I would probably say 12+. There are to many places that small children could fall and get hurt.

It's a heavily traveled trail and a great one to start on. We usually hit this one in June each year for an overnight experience and the fishing in the upper lake is usually pretty good! Keep an eye out for moose and deer!

Nice short hike up the hill. I’d do it again, as just a fun date.

We figured (3 of is) that it is closer to a 7 me round trip, but absolutely beautiful and worth the hike!

Great weekend backpacking destination.

I did this hike in June of 2016 with my wife and son. Like that of previous reviews, this is a 10 mile out and back hike. This hike is also more on the difficult side as well. We ran into a number of people that were struggling on this trail that felt it was far harder than the moderate app rating. Personally, my family and I thought it was a beautiful hike with a lot of beautiful scenery. We will definitely hike this trail again if I’m ever in the neighborhood again.

This is a great little nature hike. We take all our visitors who like to see our area. A good hike for all ages.

I love this hike a lot.
