Ive done this trail twice in the past year and the waterfall is pretty spectacular and a lot larger than one might expect. The trail going up to the falls is easy to follow but once you get closer to the falls I would imagine older individuals might have a hard time getting over some of the large boulders. I mentioned the trail is easy to follow on the way up but the way back is a bit confusing as there is multiple paths that look like a trail. My recommendation is to stay on the trail closest to the stream, which is the one you came up to the falls on.

I would recommend this trail for anyone looking for an easy to moderate hike. It would be great for a family hike. The only negative part about the hike is that the falls could be hard to find if you do not have someone explain where it is. The trail is not marked out well.

The road to this trail is closed in the winter.

did trail nearby unlisted on alltrails. fun but challenging because you remain at Alpine. it thunderstormed at our 10500 elevation camp during the night which was quite spooky

We made this a short two night backpacking trip. Our objective was to hike up to the Beartooth Plateau and look over to glacier lake. plus a little fishing. We made camp between Mutt and Jeff lake. Nice spot with a campfire. I forgot to take my power pack to keep my battery charged in my phone so I did not get all my trail recorded coming back down from ansary lake.

Made it more than half way onto the trail driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck. Was told not to drive any further because it gets gnarly. It was already gnarly driving a pickup, so I heeded the advice and turned around. Good thing. I drove into a thunderstorm. Next time I’ll hike in unless I purchase a side-by-side ATV (with tracks in winter). Luckily my cabin is only 5 miles away from the “trail head.” Looking forward to hiking it. Only a few bugs in early July 2019.

this trail is absolutely beautiful. so many lakes and crystal clear ponds...wildflowers galore. went yesterday and you have to cross 2 creeks to get to the final lake. they are higher than average I would guess so all the rocks are under water, making it a bit tricky to cross both. the mosquitoes were ok but a good solid bug spray would be a must. a good portion of the trial is muddy or wet as this year has been high for rain. It is well worth it.

I didn’t enjoy this hike as much as I had hoped. It was very rocky up to the falls as well as the surrounding area. There were no signs to the falls so we weren’t sure if we had made it or not. However, the scenery was beyond beautiful. Although it was a rough trek it was definitely worth the view.

Didnt go very far but it was nice!

7/5/19 We made this trail a loop with Sheep Bridge to the lakes and came out using the Stough trail. It was a good 3 day 2 night trip with amazing views. I would definitely recommend Sheep to Stough due to the elevation gain differences. Very pretty and a ton of solitude!

Easy to follow, have to deal with cows after you pass the falls.... your in an open range

This was a fine hike for me and my dog. As other reviews said the road (you walk about 3/4 of the hike on the Morrison Jeep Trail) is pretty rocky. The road is closed to vehicles April 15th to July 15th and it was nice being able to just walk the road knowing you wouldn't have an ATV or dirt bike come bombing up behind you. When you turn off the main road to the falls theres a few trails to take. Saw signs of elk, but no bear, though I was and would be prepared. Was letting my dog off leash until we ran across a few rattlesnakes then kept her closer. At the base of the falls it looked like recent flash flooding signs with mud and trees everywhere, but the end was the best part in the shade of trees and the canyon and the falls looked great! Would recommend as I consider myself a novice hiker and have a 10 month old Weimaraner pup.

Fairly easy hike. We hiked past the trail that is marked in this app and it ended up taking us out through a camp ground. And back to the main highway. Then just a short walk to the trailhead on the highway. A lot of the trail is wooded and there are a few dense spots but the trail is well worn. Several small creek crossings. It does open up several times and there are some great views. The only people we saw were three people on horses. We were the only ones parked at the trailhead when we arrived and when we finished. Have heard several reports of bears on this hike and on the mountain but did not see any. Did see a deer.

Trail is an atv road for part of the way. All open no shade. Trail to falls branches off Jeep road. Falls are pretty.
