camping

first 3 miles are a nice moderate, constant incline. once you depart off the main trail it gets trickier, but still very obvious to follow. honestly, this hike isn't THAT difficult, but i had a 40lb pack on and camping permit, so that weight really added to the difficulty for me as it was my first time backpacking. if you're planning to camp, be aware, there are virtually zero flat spots. there's a ridge where a couple gals were and i found a spot at the far end of the lake to the right... apparently there's a trail there that continues up the canyon, or so said the rangers that came by my little spot. you can refill from lake, but bring a filtration system or boil the water. it can also get extremely windy up there and a storm can appear in an instant since you can't see the weather fronts behind the tetons. just make sure you're prepared. worth every bit of effort, though. small children seemed to have zero issues
