took my children into dads lake and out in one day. It was a very well maintained trail that was easy to walk with the kids. Beautiful views the entire way in and out.

So many good views. The trail is easy to follow and not obscured. Moderate and gentle inclines/declines. You pass a good amount of water so if you can treat it, you don't need to pack it in. Plenty of places for camping.

great area with amazing fishing. Very remote.

AWESOME

We only hiked the first two miles of this trail. The high water in the lake prevented going further. We only planned on doing the first three miles anyway. Road to trailhead washed out about a quarter mile from the start, we had to park back at the Half Moon Lodge. Moderate hike for the first two miles, but very scenic.

Returned back to visit an old friend 9/6/15. The first time that I hike up to the pass it was covered with glaciers. This time the both glaciers were nearly gone. We had to hike 1/4 mile on the other side to even get a glimpse of what was left of Knifepoint Glacier.

This is a great hike. I spent all day hiking around the area. The country gets really rugged and more beautiful the deeper you go. There are some really great spots for overnight hikes along the way. A favorite area of mine.

Started at New Fork lake and went up through Palmer Canyon. So many beautiful waterfalls coming down the granite cliffs! Definitely won't be my last trip to the winds!

Nice trail that I used on the return from Big Sandy Lake. Passed V Lake, Diamond Lake and Meeks lake. Beautiful meadows and trees around all lakes with view of the mountains in the distance.

Beautiful lakes with Golden Trout. Pole creek crossing can be difficult in high water. Didn't take the chance and followed the river to the lakes. It was a an exhausting couple of miles.

Great thru-hike trip near the backbone of much of the Wind River Mountains. A lot of lakes to see and camps near the trail. We hiked it is 6 days because it rained constantly but we had our car shuttled to Green River Lakes trailhead so instead of taking our time we just plowed through the rain.

Been on this trail a couple of times and it goes up to Indian Pass which is on the Continental Divide. You also get to view Titcomb basin along the way. Indian basin is beautiful and there many amazing mountains

Covered this trail early in the season on the way to Cook Lakes back in 1981 . Because of high water just past Pole Creek Lake we didn't dare cross Pole Creek. While we were deciding a couple of horses crossed and the water was up past their bellies. That decided it for us so we followed the river for about a mile before we could cross and continue to Cook Lakes.

This is an amazing loop passing many beautiful lakes with great view of the mountains along the continental divide. Take your time and spent 5 days. Be sure to stop at the Big Drop slide near the Freemont river crossing
