Good trip

Love this trail! Did it last summer with my father as a bonding trip. We ended up running into a bull moose right before misty moon lake. And the next morning we woke up to a moose swimming! The views are wonderful along with the other people if you happen to run into any. :)

Nice hiking

Good memories.
Easy.

Beautiful country. Did on way back from Salt Lake to home. Did the little bighorn NP.

I did this back in August with a group of friends. Cloud Peak does not disappoint! We took 3 days to hike in, summit, and hike out and it felt comfortable. Easy to lose the trail at times due to miles of boulder - hopping when you make the summit push. Gorgeous wildflowers, amazing views! Listen to the weather though, you won't want to be up there when a storm blows through. It does have a narrow section that's not for the faint of heart!

We hiked mid-October and it was a decent hike. Very rocky and not well marked....we missed a turn and went about a mile out of the way. Overall, good trail

The views are spectacular on the trail and with a lot of other trails to join along the way. The trail itself is really rocky from beginning to end and not very clearly marked after the first half a mile.

Awesome view over the edge at the summit

Beautiful pond and lake, nice rocky trail. Lots of traffic. Not as quiet as we'd hoped, with the two legged as well as four legged kind. Lots of horse poop to dodge while we were there. My son reported the trailhead outhouse was in good condition. I'd go again, but in colder weather hopefully deterring much of the traffic.

Definitely challenging. The amount of boulder fields makes it slow going, so start early! The views on the way up are breathtaking. We didn't quite summit because of our later start, so I can only imagine that the view at the top is well worth it. We will definitely be giving this one another try!

Views were amazing! Should have brought fishing gear, maybe next time. Saw a moose and lots of birds. Everyone was exhausted at the end - no complaints though, well worth the effort!

Took us 3 hours to reach Lost Twin Lakes (2 fit adults, only a few short breaks) And 2 hr 15 minutes to get back. My GPS said 6.25 miles from trailhead to the top. We passed maybe 4 other groups while hiking. Beautiful hike! A few challenging parts. Mostly at the very end. Bring bug spray! Lots of mosquitoes.

The trail to Misty Moon Lake is very busy. We got up there by noon and I'm glad we did, finding good camping looked hard to find for others who came later in the day. The hike up the peak was a good one. Hard to find the cairn markers are difficult to find some times. The weather remained unpredictable most of the time with clear weather, rain and at the higher points snow. My advice is don't follow any weather forecast; just climb the mountain and see what happens. Awesome hike, great boulder fields, and beautiful views.

The trail is stunning: lovely meadows, wildflowers, lakes all along the way, and in my 9+ mile route I saw 2 couples! A great mix of climbing and descending, and yes, a bit rocky. The Lakes are not named and I wish I would have taken a picture of the map at the trail head. In any case, a splendid day!

Hiked the 9.4 mile loop. The trail was in good shape. I didn't see any people but I saw a pair of moose standing in one of the lakes and had a few pronghorn antelope cross my path. Weather was sunny and cool. Made for a welcome change from the August heat back home.

Rocky, but a great hike.

Completed the trip out to Willow Lake and then the entire loop. Took just over 6 hours (I would consider my hike speed at moderate). Beautiful country. Superb moose habitat but only saw one. Several stream crossings, take your time and look for crossing others have built. Very rocky the entire way. Make sure and wear sturdy/ankle supporting boots. Great hike !!

Amazing hike to Lost Twin Lakes! We packed in and stayed the night lakeside after a moderate day of hiking. Mirror Lake continued to allude us both ways, not an obvious stop on the trail. Overall a great overnight one day backpack, but be sure to bring bug spray the mosquitoes were bad at the beginning of July!

We did this hike in a day. We were on the trail at 5:15am and finished around 9:30pm. The views were spectacular. We went the weekend of July fourth and we ran into about ten different tent sites, five groups summiting and about three groups walking the "flat" part. This trail is one of the most traveled travels in the Bighorns!!

The scramble was a great scramble it took us about 4.5 hours, and it was hard. The carin guided trail was basically impossible to find, which made it harder and added time to our summit. There was also snow on the way to the summit making it a touch more difficult and hairy at times (I would recommend going later in the season). We also ran out of water, but filtered some in the creek near by (I ran out of 2 liters and filled up another liter for the hike back). On our way there and back we ran into multiple moose with their young, make sure to take a detour around!!

Overall, this was a spectacular hike. However, I would not recommend doing it in a day-unless you are a well seasoned hiker!! Plus camping at the lakes look more than amazing!

Beautiful! My first hike in years and very out of shape but I completed it. After reaching the second lake I was welcomed with Thunder, Lightning and HAIL, followed by sunshine.... The lakes, views and piece and quiet was amazing time spent.

June 2, 2017 pretty sure we are the first to hike the trail this spring. A LOT of snow of poor quality until 9000 feet then it firms up so you stay on top of the 6+ feet left on the trail. Also gets harder to follow the trail. But all in all nothing we didn't expect. Hike on!

Great trail up to East Tensleep Lake. This trail gets moderate use mostly in the form of ATV/UTV and OHV use. The trail has several rocky sections in the beginning that can be navigated with a truck or higher clearance car. Once you get to the turn where the trail changes from a general NE direction to the NNW up to the lake, a high clearance vehicle with 4 wheel drive is going to be a must. There are several steep rocky inclines that must be navigated, as well as several mud holes and a creek crossing. Once up and on the top its a nice drive in the tall pines back to the lakes. There are plenty of spots to camp for a night or two if you bring a tent. We drive this trail to get to the lakes and go fishing. It sees increased use in the fall closer to hunting season.

I really liked this hike. It's a good intro to summiting 13ers. Amazing scenery!

did this trail during June of this year (2016). it was incredible. the scramble up and down the boulder field to Cloud Peak was grueling, but the views were so worth it. the entire area around misty moon lake (and honestly the whole trail) is gorgeous as well. holds great populations of healthy brook trout, if you're into fly fishing! caught many on a tenkara rod. they were ferocious, and i really mean that. never seen fish rise in a frenzy like they were there.

If you plan on going around the time I went, BRING MOSQUITO NETS! They were so ridiculously thick that it drove us insane a few times! :)
