This park is named for its centerpiece, a lake which often is so calm that not a ripple marks its surface. The lake reflects a wooded shoreline with cliffs up to 50 feet high, a swimming beach, and wetlands that are home to a variety of wildlife. Just three miles from Wisconsin Dells, Mirror Lake is also close to Devil's Lake, Rocky Arbor and Buckhorn state parks.

[ Northwest > Newport > Lakeview ] Trails:
Bring some bug spray, the trails are mostly wooded areas and if you're walking the mosquitoes can be overwhelming. Beautiful views of the lake from The east side of Northwest Trail! Northwest is between easy and moderate because of the few inclines. Newport and Lakeview trails are very easy. There is a nice little beach and playground between Newport and Lakeview. Boat rentals at the end of Lakeview! Super well maintained! You can bring your dog on a leash but beware there are no trash receptacles except at the park entrance... so be prepared to carry it with you till the end!

This was a very enjoyable hike.

Great hiking!!

Beautiful!!

I love the state park not busy like devils lake, trails are pretty neat

Warm January day with the sun shining through the pines. Not enough snow for the trails to be used by cross country skiers but open for hiking.
Lovely hike.

Family friendly trails near WI Dells. Great place to get out of the water parks for a few hours. The trail system is well marked and maintained as well. I would not call this difficult, there was only one moderate incline on the path we took. There are several trails that intersect that are marked with maps.

Great little part that is often overlooked for the nearby Devil's Lake State Park. Worth a look.

Very fun time. Don't be discouraged; difficult is not that hard

Did the Northwest trail. Limited views of the lake, but really well marked trails. Very limited elevation changes, so this trail is reasonable for inexperienced hikers or even children.

This is hands down the best marked trail I've been on. I'm a trail runner and got a good run here on the Fern & Northwest trails which were easy/moderate. Northwest has some nice long climbs and descents. This park has a wide array of trails to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. It is also good for cross country skiing and mountain biking although I have not used the trails for that myself. As far as scenic goes I've had more beautiful settings but it's a great trail system.
