nice change in elevation but a little too wide of a trail for my liking.

The under 2-mile purple loop is relaxing and easy. Lots of benches along the way.

Nordic trail loops offer many options for length and difficulty, up to 9.2 miles...all options are well marked and very scenic. Best enjoyed during off peak times as it is quite heavily used on weekends. These trails are NOT OPEN to hikers when snow covered.

Really enjoy night hiking this trail. It’s vet peaceful. Brown loop is perfect for taking my 7 year old daughter.

Great mostly wooded trail. Many switchbacks with some rather steep areas. I would rate if difficult for a Wisconsin trail. i did the green loop. Orange loop bypasses the most difficult part of the green loop. nice overlook about halfway through the trail.

Clearly marked. Try to do some of the blue trail for lots of trail lined with pine trees.

nice wide trails. I use these trails for great trail running! also very nice for hiking. It's very quite don't see many people at all on weekdays and goes miles deep into the Kettle Moraine forest. Lots of ups and downs. pretty well maintained. There is a pretty big parking lot. The amenities are nice with bathrooms and water.

Mountain biker's gem. Just beware of the ridiculous amount of skeeters, no-see-ems and poison ivy. Don't be afraid to send it this fall!

Great hiking, moderate hills, well marked trails.

We really like the trail. Unfortunately the DNR has not maintained the trail this summer! The trail has not been mowed all summer making the trial and benches virtually unusable. All they have to do is mow the trails and it would be 5 stars!

this campground is THE best for getting away from noise and bustle and is an unexpected little slice of up north. been coming here since 1992 and love it. very well planned out with quiet loop too.

The 9 mile blue loop is excellent - lots of undulating hills with some challenging climbs in the black rated section of 1-2 miles. Great for trail running.

Hiked the Blue until Marker 7 then followed Green, didtsnve of 7.5 miles. Wide trail. clear and large plantation pine setting. Plenty of long sloping hills for a total gain of 800 feet in the 7.5 miles.
We'll marked.
Trail head with plenty of parking, clean to let's. water and picnic tables.

I love this trail, lots of hills.

Woods kind of make me feel claustrophobic because of the narrow paths and sensation of going in circles since this is a mountain biking trail is prevalent. Also I think I saw an emu in these woods so this section kind of frightens me.

great trail, a fair amount of bikers , trail is narrow predominantly and hikers enter counter clockwise to see and get out of the bikers path. challenging trail with lots of up and downs. worth the extra distance to get to lookout point for a great view.

The 9-mile blue loop of the Nordic Trail is my favorite hike in the area. Well, not so much in my area, because I live an hour south of the trail, but it is absolutely worth the drive. Nice varied scenery, a few hilly areas to provide some variety (and a little more effort), well-marked, well-maintained paths, and best of all, no biking allowed!

Nice trail, we'll marked with signs. Wide trail, as wide as 2 cars width most of the trail. Orange Trail yielded 2 spots with great Valley views. Moderate ups and downs.

Amazing single track trails. Not too difficult for the beginning rider yet still some obstacles for some of the most experienced.

I like this trail system, along with the John Muir trail system across the street. Unfortunately we were advised not to use the John Muir trails due to the amount of bikers that day. We did a mix of the blue and green trails. I'd say it was fairly easy, some uphill climbs, but most of the time the path was easy and wide. Very well marked. Not at all crowded when I went. Bring bug spray if you're into that sort of thing. I'll be going back, but I prefer the John Muir trails.

We did the 'green' loop, which says is 3.6 miles. A couple of concerns - we initially wanted to do a trail across the road, but when we paid our parking fee, were told that that side of the park was over-ridden with bikers that day, and if we were there to hike, we should go across the street to the Nordic trailheads, so we did. This is the first year we are exploring hiking opportunities within a two-mile radius of the Chicago area, in preparation for a trip to the west coast later this summer. So we wanted something with a little challenge to it. This one worked OK for that... some uphills that mimicked ones we will see in the future, but not quite as long. But we're just trying to find the right places for right now to sort of do some training and gauge what we're able to do, and were happy with this one in that was 100% better than anything we have in Lake County.

One disappointment - we had our dog with us, and had our own clean-up bags with us, but when we got back to the parking lot, there was not a garbage can to be found anywhere to dump the bag... not even in the bathrooms.

The trails are marked VERY well; Wisconsin does an excellent job with that - I wish some other states did as well (talking about you Oregon and Illinois). I'd like to go back again and try the trails across the road starting from that parking lot.
