Located on the beautiful St.Croix River, Interstate State Park visitors can climb the cliffs of the St. Croix River Dalles, canoe the flat-water, watch kayakers rush through the rapids, or relax on an excursion boat. Spring brings a great diversity of wildflowers and in fall, the St. Croix River Valley forest is ablaze in the autumn colors of red, gold, and orange. The geology that formed this park intrigues visitors, and brings geologists from all over the world. At least 10 different lava flows are exposed in the park, along with two distinct glacial deposits, and traces of old streams valleys and faults. During the summer, hike the trails and explore the glacial potholes that make this park unique.

Mediocre. Probably a lot prettier in spring when there is more water on the falls. Bugs weren't horrible, but I'd recommend spray. This hike is really only worth it if once you get to the bench at the falls you also walk down the incline to get to the base of the falls. Temp was nice down there, and much fewer bugs down by the water. Not sure I would do this hike again, but overall not the worst in the world.

fun trail. we did the potholes first then hiked to the ranger station, got some postcards, then went back to the car. very nice hike.

I used to hike these trails with my family as a kid. This was fun to hike as an adult with my family! We brought our 7 year old and my husband carried the baby on his back. There were some tricky spots but only because it had rained that morning and some of the rocks to step on were slippery. A few spots had a lot of mosquitos- but could have been the rain. Gorgeous views, we all enjoyed the trails! Will definitely be back.

No maintenance on the trails. Lost the trail completely in a couple spots. Ended up having to take the road for a bit.

Much to add later

The loop section has some nice rock formations and river views, the hike to the visitor center and back is not very scenic, some rock formations.

Minor trail, overlook at the top is minimal due to trees blocking view, some nice rock formations on the trail to the top.

The trail was pretty muddy in places and under water completely towards the end. Definitely happy we had bug spray too! Overall it was a nice hike, not difficult and would do it again.

the trail was quite muddy and the waterfall was kind of disappointing. The bugs were bad too. I'd recommend the ravine trail. it's not listed here on Alltrails but it does connect to the silver brook trail.

My husband and I went out on this trail to break in some new hiking shoes. It’s heavily trafficked and very easy to get through. Make sure you bring bug spray - even though a lot of the trail is shaded, we still got some bites!

I came here for the waterfall. Google maps has this mistakenly labeled as Copper Mine Trail, and the address it has is incorrect as well. It is more like 1135 County Rd S, Dresser WI 54009, directly across from a house. That address has a small pull in spot at the trailhead. The waterfall is pretty cool, but the trail to it is extremely muddy in a couple of spots. As you hike down to it, there is a trail that veers off to the right that leads to a good photo spot without getting so muddy. Be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes!

nice trail the potholes are really cool. it also has nice views of the river. the only reason I give it 4 stars is that it is right next to the road and you never get a secluded "away from it" feeling.

beautiful day we trekked, plenty of pictures making sure of no sprained ankles.

Not hard. We hiked with a baby in a front pack and two dogs with no problems. If you are a frequent hiker you will love this trail

Nice little trail

Great trail and very well maintained. Beautiful.

Great trail, moderate to easy but wear good shoes so you can climb on the rocks easily

Paved mile trek around a very smelly lake. No thanks. Ideal for strollers.

Beautiful views and not too crowded. Definitely a easy/moderate as there are clear paths and stone steps. It’s only strenuous if you take advantage of the many little side paths that require a little climbing. If you don’t do these it’s nothing special. You get a bit of everything in this hike, with some nice height and view of the valley at the summit, some serene woods, some river access to cool your feet, and a few rock faces for experienced climbers with equipment.

One of my favorite trails!!

Really unique and beautiful - kids had a blast as well. The potholes are so much fun to see, and the scenic overlooks on the Saint Croix are breathtaking. Definitely will go back to do more exploring.

Beautiful views, but moderate difficulty at most.
