Length: 1.3 mi • Est. 32 m
The Butterfly Pond Trail is named for the shape of the trail as it winds around the pond to form butterfly wings. It is a paved accessible trail featuring three wildlife viewing platforms, an accessible fishing pier, a gazebo and rock resting area. The pond is home to various birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Accessibility: This asphalt trail is estimated to typically be at least 6 feet wide. Some sections are wood and steel bridges and may be more narrow but they are estimated to be no longer than 50 feet long. Bridges have edge barriers and hand rails. The slope is moderately steep in some sections, though mostly gentle, and estimated to range from 0-6%. The moderately steep points are at the 0.2 and 0.8 mile mark. There may not be ADA-compliant car parking at the trailhead but it is likely a firm and flat parking surface. Show more
