I thought the trail was boring flat and straight. 16 years old and over pay for a trail pass 5 dollars For a Day pass $25 annual. It has a very thin layer of limestone So after a rain your sink down in the mud. It's a great trail in the Winter for snowmobiles and ATVs

I drove out to the Gandy Dancer with my bike hoping to find a nice trail to ride. What I found was a trail that appeared to be ridden by ATV's. The trail was a soft mix of sand and gravel and not very suitable to bicycle riding. ATV riders typically go fast, and I had some concern about being hit by one of them. I suppose a person could hike the trail, but it didn't seem very appealing to me. I won't be back!

I couldn't find the trailhead or any reference to a trail at the start point (Thayers Landing?). Is this a river boat ride (the map takes you straight along river)?

Great way to ride some basic "off road" with beginner bikers or go it hard without vehicle traffic. Nice how the trails cut through towns along the way. Perfect afternoon on bikes :)
