HikingGreat!

Easily one of my favorite hikes in Wisconsin. I’ll start by saying that this trail probably isn’t the best for less experienced hikers or senior citizens—you’ll want to pack your boots for this one. It’s got some incline and syncline that could be problematic for some. There is boardwalk for quite a while, which is very nice. The trail can be muddy and wet during spring, but it’s worth it for the gorgeous view of the lake and cliffs. Leashed dogs are allowed and don’t forget cash for the parking fee. Happy Hiking!!

HikingGreat!

The beginning boardwalk to the cliffs/bluffs is the best part. If you like woodsy hikes away from the lake, then keep going after about -3.5 miles, otherwise the -3.5 mile point is a good place to turn back if you want to shorten the trek. Great Lake vistas are beautiful and worthwhile.

Hiked in 3.5 miles with my wife yesterday. Awesome trail and views. Very unique shore-scape. Lots of blow down, but mostly cleared.

I would call this an intermediate hike, and was a bit intimidated by the hard classification. I'm glad I did it because it was beautiful! Solo hiked today and met few people on the trail. Solitude was what I hoped to find and I sure did. Totally worth the $5. The trail is leaf covered once you get past the caves and cliffs, but still very navigable. I'm excited to come back in warmer temps to do it again!

Beautiful views from the cliffs! trail is in good condition, but covered by leaves by now. you can still find your way pretty easily though, just be careful with your footing.

WalkingFeeGreat!

Hiked this trail with my wife today and it was beautiful. A bit crowded at points, and the first 3/4 of a mile is on planks - so when folks pass someone has to step off. Beautiful scenery, and well maintained trail (there was actually a crew working on it today). The sea caves are fantastic, and well worth the stair-climbs to get there.

Easy for pros, a bit of a challenge in the mud, otherwise a leisurely stroll.

Nice trail. Lots of roots and short stairs, but the payoff is worth it.

Nature tripsFeeGreat!

the trails starts as a bland boardwalk then goes to rooty ups and down. the trail is not hard. But when you get to the bluffs its dangerous and beautiful and terrifying and breath taking. In many places the span between you and 100ft+ cliffs is inches and in at least one place a fraction of an inch.

It was challenging - so many stairs up and down! But an exciting trail, very well maintained, and spectacular views. Nothing but nature sounds, and very healing to the mind and body.

Walking on planks the first mile or so, then the trail gets a little bit more intense. Totally worth the views though! Dog friendly!
