I'm new to hiking and this was amazing and not super difficult the views were AMAZING! Worth the bit of huffing and puffing with the incline but it was not an extreme incline and lots of beautiful areas to stop and catch your breath

Excellent trail. Multiple overlooks into the New River Gorge with views that are breathtaking. It states it is a 2.2 mile loop. However, to really enjoy the view you will need to venture off the main trail multiple times. There are two places to park, one at each trail head. You will have to walk the road either at the beginning or end. Total hiking distance was 4.0 miles. There are also several places for climbing. We hiked this as a family with a 14, 9 and 6 year old and there was something for everyone. Allow 2 1/2 to 3 hours to enjoy this trail.

Make sure you take the little path to Diamond Point Overlook!! That is the big overlook with amazing views. Though all along this trail there’s a few little places to look over the gorge. Pretty light hike and nicely shaded.

well maintained and stunning views

breathtaking views!

One of my faves!

Went Wednesday, 06/06. It was amazing. Can't wait to go back in the fall. The hike was very easy.

Awesome panoramic views. Be sure to take the small trails off the main trail to see different views. We carried our 1 year old in a backpack and our 7 week old with ease. Loved this hike

It’s a beautiful trail down into Kaymoor. We went in the dead of heat and still stayed cool on the trail. The way up is tough, but there are plenty of chances for intermission. Don’t let your lack of cardio keep you from enjoying the trail. Don’t rush it! Take your time and enjoy it and reading about the history on the way down.

Very intense but such a cool hike.

Beautiful views, stomach dropping overlooks, gorgeous walk through the woods. I would definitely walk this again.

Didn’t walk too far into the fayette trail. But the bridge trail was awesome! So cool to be able to walk under the New River Bridge and touch it! We waved to people doing to bridge walk! Such a cool experience!

Good hike... nice views

Very nice hike. Lots of spectacular views.

Was a hard trail very steep going down to the mine and then you had 800 steps to the bottom , we turn around then and went back up, would like to do it again and go all the way to the bottom just need to start early in the day for this one need time for taking a lot of breaks going back up

This was an awesome trail! It wasn’t very long, so I was able to do it before my other plans later that afternoon. Many gorgeous views along the way to stop at and take pictures. Easy hike overall, as another reviewer said, the toughest part is the stairs, but overall not bad at all.

One confusing area was I got to the road and thought I had made a wrong turn so I went back and then realized I hadn’t. I just needed to go a bit further and the trail does follow the road down to Turkey Spur Rock.

The only reason 4 stars and not 5 is because there are other trails I enjoy more, but I will definitely be going on this trail again.

✅off my bucket list! Everyone on this trail was so nice.

beautiful view, the drive down Irish Mountain was atrocious would recommend truck, 4×4, or off road vehicle otherwise find alternate route because rd is highly washed out and cars will not make it. otherwise trail was well made and waterfalls were amazing

A moderately difficult hike if you’re not accustomed to a slow rise in elevation If you’re a hiker it’s a quick hike to a spectacular vista. I will go back every time I visit the park.

This was amazing! So many great views! Easy hike and not too difficult. Took a TON of pictures. With that being said the wall does open up a lot to the valley so a wide angle lens will be brought with me next time!

Loved this trail!

Good Trail. Could have been better, only being about 3 miles and you can’t go in and go out it just loops. Good trail if you want terrain. Lot of roots in the path though.
