A moderately difficult hike if you’re not accustomed to a slow rise in elevation If you’re a hiker it’s a quick hike to a spectacular vista. I will go back every time I visit the park.

This was amazing! So many great views! Easy hike and not too difficult. Took a TON of pictures. With that being said the wall does open up a lot to the valley so a wide angle lens will be brought with me next time!

you don't have to be a climber to enjoy this trail but it sure helps!

Loved this trail!

Good Trail. Could have been better, only being about 3 miles and you can’t go in and go out it just loops. Good trail if you want terrain. Lot of roots in the path though.

Probably one of my favorite trails ever! Highly recommend taking the climbing detours - the ladders can be intimidating, but it’s a fantastic adventure to literally climb up and down the cliff face. A great experience. You bet I’ll be hiking this one again!

on Stone Cliff Trail

We went on a whim along this trail with our dog. It’s a very interesting walk down then back up to about 300 ft around a bend in the river. There were several nice waterfalls/streams to cross by stepping on rocks, the waterfalls trickle down from way up on the hill. We went further than the posted trail, around the bend looking for what might be a “stone cliff”, but we only found large boulders that had fallen down on to the trail. Another person mentioned a growel from the woods, we also heard it too past where the trail was supposed to end. We guessed it to be a large wildcat of some kind, but we did not see it. We decided to turn around and go back shortly after the noise. We then get on here to post a review and read another person’s post with a similar story. We recommend not going alone if you’re going to past the lower trail and up the final incline.

We love the trails in this area! This is a fantastic trail to do with some awesome views!

Easy hike. The best views you can just drive to them. Not challenging or satisfying

Beautiful views of the gorge and river below. Great for hikers and climbers. The trail is easy to follow. Some spots get muddy during rain season and get over grown with shrubs during those seasons, but the path is still clear. 7 and 12 yr old loved it! Great to watch birds as well. About 1/2 a mile must be walked to get back to either parking lots. Be careful walking local road.

Easy short hike to breathtaking views. We went the morning after a rainfall and it was muddy and slippery so be cautious!

Great trail, I have hiked it many times. Beautiful views of the Gorge, the bridge, and of rhododendrons. Great for rock-climbing as well. The trail is on the 2nd largest natural rock wall formation in the world.

Very wet, but it had been raining a ton. The dog liked the trail. Nice forest, but nothing spectacular.

Beautiful streams and gorgeous views. great short hike.

I hiked this 2.17.18 and it is very easy. The hike only takes an hour or so but with all of the great views, it took me closer to 2.5 hours. Diamond Point is one of the last overlooks and I'd plan on spending some time here. Great view and somewhat larger area where you can stop and have lunch or whatever. Well worth the time. This is a loop but the last 0.5 mile you need to walk down the main road to the parking lot where you parked. I was a bit confused at first and thought that I had gone the wrong way, but it was all good.

Beautiful trail and beautiful views.

December 28th there was a dusting of snow. We brought YakTrax but did not need them. Many beautiful outlooks over the New River Gorge. Trail in excellent condition. Great hike!

Amazing views. You walk along the edge of a cliff the whole time. Endless views the whole trail. Took about less than 3 hours and we stop at every view spot. Easy trail no high inclines

Relatively easy trail with a fair amount of vistas showing the Gorge the whole way. Take the road on the way back for a beautiful pine tree tunnel!

Beautiful views along the trail and the only strenuous part seemed to be the stairs. Great rocks on the way as well even though someone wrote "Bong Rip Cove" on one of them

Been here twice. First time with some friends and the second with my mom. Easy trail but still a pretty good hike. Watch out for snakes in the summer!

The view is super pretty. Did not like that to complete the loop you have to walk on the road. Few cool ladders for climbing access.
