Snowshoe has great hiking all around the basin 'bowl' and at the Silver Creek area... all are easy or moderate with the exception of 'Bail Out' which is rated difficult. Hikes can range from 1/2 milers to overnighters (primitive camping available on Cheat Mtn. Ridge trail near outback country hut area). My suggestion would be to start with a nice 3 hour hike starting at Black Run Road at Silvercreek to Lower Beaver dam, turn left back onto Black Run Road to Enchanted Forest on the right. Take that past Bears Den and thru Point of No Return to A Headset Adjustment. Take that down the mountain to Lower Spruce Road where you turn left on the road and walk out to the Silver Creek parking lot. Nice stream trail... to a moss forest... pretty hike.Stop in to the Depot or Patrol at Snowshoe for a hiking trail map. Beautiful long view scenery from multiple sites on hikes in the area.
