Don't go too late. Very difficult to navigate down hill in the dark. Whoops lol.

Great hike to see while visiting the area! The best part are the Paragliders and view from the top. I hiked alone and felt totally comfortable to do so. A nice steady climb and shady most of the way. Great views of rainier too!

Uphill almost the entire way, but the view at the top is amazing!

Great hike trained there with 40# backpack for trip to the Grand. Canyon. Parking is real bad due to location and hang gliders use the top. Be prepared for crowds.

This is a fun, quick hike. Up and down in under two hours, depending on how long you stay at the top. The trail is well-maintained. The views are fantastic on a clear day. There are two view points. Both spots offer a great place to sit, take in the view, have a picnic.

I saw all age ranges on this hike (8yr olds to late 60s). Overall, this is a fun and easy hike. Have fun!

The only downside is that this trail is very crowded. I went at 7am in a weekday morning and it was not so bad. But in late afternoons/evenings it gets so packed that it isn’t very enjoyable.

I got as far as East Summit before my phone/GPS/map broke and I had to negotiate my way to the Hwy 18 dropoff.

Do NOT hike this without a good map or GPS. There are trails and roads that are unmarked, and at about the 7 mile mark a clear cut has wiped the trail out for about half a mile. Without this recorded track to follow, I would not have found the trail there.

My two kids (12 & 7) did this loop today. It was a fun hike and a perfect challenge for them both. This is a really beautiful hike. Here are some things to know:

As of Jun-16-2018 there is a tree down across the Trail in the 1st third of the hike (counter clockwise loop). We had no problem getting through it though.

As of Jun-16-2018 Tent City 4 is at the base of the trail head. This is not an issue as far as I am concerned (the residents don’t want trouble coming into Tent City), but you have to walk through TC4 to get to the TH. Everyone we passed and said ‘Hi’ to (in and out) was very nice and friendly.

You can hear car noise from I90 for more than half the hike.

My son called it Fernopolos - there are a million ferns...really beautiful.

The full loop is about 4-miles.

I have no idea where the bridge in the cover photo is - we didn’t see it on this loop.

Overall a great wilderness hike (no vistas or views though). We will be back with our Scout troop.

I chose this trail for the difficulty and from reading other reviews. First time up I took my camelbak with 15lbs of weight as well as a 15lb weighted vest. It was a tough climb, but worth it as an alternate leg day. I have no special hiking gear or boots, just a ratty pair of sauconys, and I made it to the top fine. The descent, though more time consuming than a standard trail descent, was quite fun. Not a great view at the top, so I can only recommend this to people looking to torch their legs. One note: this trail has some serious mud chute sections which are touch to navigate even when dry. When wet, these sections of the trail can be extremely slippery. Be mindful if you're trekking up after/during rain.

I would not rate this as moderate. Going up the nook trail was doable but the section line trail was definitely difficult for me. View at the top not worth the effort going up this way in my opinion. Next time..if there is a next time I would do West Tiger 3 going up and down.

Pretty hike with great views at the top. The paragliders were really cool to see

Enjoyable but crowded little hike without leaving town.

Great little work out

Fine for an easy hike with hardly any elavation change. not a super clear path for a loop around the lake, but it's pretty easy to jump between trails to make your own loop.

We started out from the W Tiger 3 trail. My 6 year old took some time to hike up to the Talus Rocks trailhead but once we got there the rest of the hike was easy. There were a couple interesting log bridges and the rocks were quite unique. Hike down can be a bit slippery. We have seen a few hikers but not too busy.

OK for a quick couple miles, but really crowded on the weekend

Decently heavy foot traffic on a Saturday, even starting in the late afternoon. The way up has good incline and is somewhat rocky. The view at the peak is lovely, and you can see Rainier in its full glory on a clear day. Also definitely fun to watch paragliders take off before heading back down.

It was a challenging workout but disappointing view at the top. Nothing to see.

We started at high point and followed Tiger 3 up until the fork towards Talus Rocks. Unfortunately the kids melted down at this point so we turned around. About a mile to the fork. It was a good hike and I would do it again!

Great hike, very close to town. Most of the hike is in shade under trees which is great. Gorgeous views when you get to the top.

Had so much fun doing this hike! Weather was mild which was perfect as this hike is mostly incline. It was good to have the breeze to cool you down as you ascended to the top. I do not recommend this trail for younger kids.

This is a very popular hike I've been wanting to do for quite some time. A few friends and I did this hike near the time of sunset. There were hardly any hikers on the trail which was nice. By the time we got to the top there were no paragliders for it was too dark. There was one group of guys from Ohio that came to visit the west side to experience the hikes. They had a golf club with them and let us hit a ball of the mountain side which was pretty neat. The views from this hike are astounding and really a great hike for people of all ages.

Up from Chirico trailhead and down via high school trailhead, very good exercise going up, good view and a lot of paraglider at the top

It was a beautiful day out at Tradition Lake! Not crowded at all when we started at 830!

Good workout, good incline.

Great spot to watch gliders take off
