Enjoyed the loop trail, and the views from the lookout points of the beautiful San Juans. We went on a gorgeous sunny day. Somewhere we got turned around and ended up on the bluff by the water. We had to climb our way back to the main trail (good workout) missed the sign, some of them are not as visible...I wouldn't recommend this trail for children or dogs that are not trained. Lots of edges and narrow areas.

Awesome 30 minute hike for all ages and abilities. It's one of the best kept secrets when it comes to the best place to watch a sunset around Fidalgo Island. It's also a great spot for hammocks.

Such a chill hike. Coming back up was a bit of a challenge but nothing too hard. Saw a total of 4 people! Great hike for all ages.

The views from the top of this trail are amazing. We went on a cloudy day with intermittent rain but still could see for miles into the San Juan Islands. We were blown away by the views and enjoyed savoring them for a long time. We enjoyed all the trails in this system, though some were tough and technical. Great signage - we never felt like we were lost no matter where we were. This was definitely a good glute workout!

Great views and mostly nicely marked trail. There were a few spots with forks, and it was hard to determine which way to turn.

It was a good outing. Took my 5 kids, ages 3-13, completed entire trail. Wouldn’t do again.

This trail was such a pleasant surprise! The trail started out pretty well maintained but the last half was more like dirt trails. I followed one of the recordings that someone did when they traveled on that trail to make sure I stayed on the right path (there are a lot of side trails). It wasn’t super confusing but just a tip:) the end view was beyond gorgeous! I highly recommend this hike if you want to see a pure, panoramic view of the water with no obstructions. Just be very careful because the last leg of the trail, towards the cliffs, is very steep and there are no guardrails for the cliffs by the ocean! But I just loved the view, should be on everyone’s bucket list!

This was a magnificent hike. Beautiful clear sunny day. The trees shaded us well on the trail. The view was spectacular when we got to the top.

Completed on March 24th. Was a great hike. Not too intense. The way down was much easier than the way up. It is a downhill incline. TONS of porpoises!! The view was amazing. Would do again. Nothing too intense but a great little hike.

Has some cliffs and uphill climbs but it has amazing views! We took out 3 boys 9,6, and 3 and they did pretty good.

Great trail! Well marked and a really nice path for most of the hike. Had my toddler in the hiking pack and my 8 year old. Nice views too.

This trail was awesome and the views at the end were gorgeous. A dog named Yogi led us the entire trail and we thought his owner was on the trail somewhere. Ran into another hiker that said the dog was famous in Anacortes for leading people on the trail. We called his owner and he lived two blocks away and even admitted Yogi was famous. The hike was fun and one I will never forget because of Yogi AND it was my birthday.

One half of the trail is quite easy and flat, and the other is more moderate and steep (but very doable). The views at the end were well worth it. I wasn’t expecting to actually see any porpoises, but we got a good surprise and saw maybe 6 total during the 30-45 minutes we spent sitting on the cliffs. I was glad that we brought out binoculars. I would definitely bring a picnic lunch next time! The hike itself took us maybe 45 minutes total, not very long. The trail was a little buggy, but not so much that it was distracting. We didn’t bring bug spray and were fine (at 2:30 on a sunny day).

Lovely hike with many loop options to extend our day out. Outstanding lookouts!!! The clouds broke, sun came out & blue skies greeted us.

Stunning views. Well worth the moderate hill on the way back.

Great trail with beautiful views. However, a few areas are steep and can be tricky.

This hike is my favorite on Fidalgo Island. Just a short 20 minute hike with minimal climb gives you one of the most impressive and expansive views in Western Washington. It should be rated Easy, anyone of any skill level can do this hike!

Beautiful view. We even saw some seals in the water at the bluff overlook. Definitely a leg workout! Took along kids ages 8-18 and our dog. Great hike!

Quick and easy. We hiked today with kids. There are several other trails at Sharpes Park besides Sares Head that you could add for more fun. Almost 360 degree view at lookout is beautiful!
