Very beautiful and relaxing. Love the bridge and the views. The huge rocks are awesome! Nice place to have a picnic.

Beautiful place for a family hike!

Crowded on the weekends, but great id-week and early in the am..

Fun easy trail. Fun to do mid-week with the pups.

Loved the bridge, water was high and fabulous. Easy enough for kids, great scenery, but busy! There was no pavement in this trail, that is on the bowl and pitcher trail.

So beautiful and tons of different trails to take. we walked along trails down river and it was amazing!

Well defined, easy trail with some great views along the river! Perfect for walking the pup who isn’t quite used to hiking. Only issue for us was crossing the bridge first. Myself (and turns out my dog too) are afraid of bridges with rushing water underneath, ha!

Loved the water and how it rushes against the rocks. Something peaceful about this place.

It’s was a pretty walk.

04/22/2018-The trail is in excellent shape. Right after you step off the pedestrian bridge onto the trail, take the first trail to your right. This will take you on the trail nearest the river bank which is the prettiest part of the hike. Instead of doing the loop, I’d hike along the river 2.5 miles to Gate 35, turn around and hike back the same way. If you do the loop, half the hike is on the Centennial Trail (boring). If you do this hike as an up and back, you get to see the prettiest parts twice. Watch for Ospreys in the trees along the river as you hike.

Easy trail with great views of the river. Good birdwatching, too.

Urban oasis. Expect fellow hikers, beautiful spots overlooking the river!

Great views along the river and from the suspension bridge...

Other than having to see the Waste Treatment Plant, this is a beautiful hike. The single track river portion was dry, but there is still plenty of wet snow on the inland portion. Bring your waterproof boots. ;-)

great spot, easy to find. if you go right now (jan.) you might want to bring microspikes. the trail is iced over completely.
will be back when we get fresh snow to go snowshoeing

WAY too crowded!

A very peaceful walk during the lovely fall.

Very nice trail on a lovely, pretty day!

Fun had by all, excepts for beans

Beautiful day today!

Nice hike, fairly easy, the trail is a combo between walking along the river and a paved road. You have to walk on the road and then it turns into centennial trail which is paved. At least half of the trail is in paved road.

Parking is plentiful.

Very easy loop. Great for kids, lots of freedom for them to run. Busy yet still private. Love the different landscapes throughout loop.

Visiting from CA, was a nice place to take a morning run.

Great little trail.

Beautiful scenery.... Nice trail for an out of shape guy.

Very easy and flat little hike. I did it clockwise which seemed good. After crossing the bridge the first half is through the forest, no spectacular views but good enough. Then when you turn east the views of the river are very nice. Took an hour total including plenty of sightseeing and lazing around.

Nice hike with the kids and dogs. Trails are not marked very well and there are several spots that you could get on the wrong trail.

This already favorite area around Spokane was made all that much better by a super rare visit from my sister and family. No way to not give it 5 stars with that ultimate combo. This hike is a must-see for visitors to the area, one of the nicest spots along the Spokane River. Most people probably just do a short hike around Bowl & Pitcher like we did today. Further exploration, as I have been doing, reveals seemingly endless miles and connections with countless other trails in the area. Hopefully Spokane preserves this as a natural area for generations to come instead of caving into developer pressure or budget concerns.
