We hiked this trail to Spanish Creek, where we deposited a food cache for a later, longer hike. Andrews Creek trail was disappointing for several reasons. 1. VERY rocky in the lower half. Very tiring to walk. 2. No cover. Trees have not yet recovered from recent fires. The entire hike was under a hot sun, not through a mature forest as most maps show. 3. No views below the very top. Really. None. 4. Lots of underbrush. This is not a biggie, but contributed to the overall unpleasantness. Recommendation: Avoid this trail. Use one of the other nearby trails, such as Chewuch River, to access the Cathedral Lakes area. I have not seen that trail, but it has to be better.
