A lot of snow. You have to hike two miles down the road before you get to the tail head witch has about 2 feet of snow and a lot of trees down

I’ve gone here twice in the last month and haven’t made it to the lake yet. None of us had been here before and the first time we went out we followed someone else’s footprints. We started going the wrong way and went a little too far. The second time it was much snowier. There was a quarter in ch of snow down at the parking lot. There wasn’t snow until a couple thousand feet the first time. If you plan to go on this hike and make it to the top it will require snow shoes and having hiked up before. I’m planning an expedition soon. Hopefully third times the charm. The trail is wooded for the first half of the way up then the next half mile of ascension is very steep but very pretty.

Great trail for snowshoeing this time of year. Lots of deep fresh powder, we made fresh tracks. We hiked down to the creek where there is a nice camping/picnic spot with a picnic table and fire pit. Overall great day. Access road is about 4 miles of deep snow with lots of hills, AWD and must!

My favorite hike I've ever done. Beautiful, esp once you get into the old growth forest!

Pretty trail that has some stunning views of the river along the way.

Incredible yet easy hike. Surreal environment with beautiful moss covered trees.

Very muddy, which is to be expected this time of year. Nothing some waterproof boots couldn't handle. It was well worth it! Gorgeous forest setting. Incredibly blue and clear creeks, we saw coho salmon in them. The club moss hanging off the trees was the stuff of dreams!

#hike2, #52hikechallenge2020 Rain, tried the kelty Eagle fanny pack. Slight numbness in left outer calf. Not another car in the parking lot. Met 1 hiker at the falls.

Great trail! Very well marked and maintained. Went up on Jan 3rd. Conditions were rainy at times and the trail was muddy in spots, but very manageable. Incline can be challenging but there are spots to rest on benches if needed. At the top of the trail there is an additional 1 mile out and back for a look out. HIGHLY recommend!

Very flat hike along the river with a few easy Creek crossings. Beautiful in the rain, however, trail flooded and impassable at about the 4 mile mark. Started around 9:30am, turned around at noon.

Nice day trip. Not an “off-road” road, but a single lane road with a few turn outs. Ran into snow about half way and at the top was about 5” ish. Only seen about 6 vehicles and a few snow sleds so watch for those near the top. Going down just idle along and keep speed down and stay in the fresh snow if possible because the main tracks are icy. Fun time. Cell reception came and went. Roads aren’t really marked. Nice views and relaxing day trip.

I would love to do this beautiful trail when it hasn't been raining so hard, as it was very muddy and lots of water on the trails, making it extremely difficult to navigate. Trails were almost impossible, they were so full of water. Couple of spots where we had to cross the stream and it was very full, and very fast. Little nerve racking. Eventually, after about 3 miles, I had to call it a day. Too much mud for me.

on Ruby Beach

Husband and I made a morning trip to Ruby Beach and we just picked a bad day to go. The weather was not cooperating. It was raining and windy, so salt water was literally slapping us around. The crashing waves only added to the ominous setting. I still give it 4 stars, because it is a real pretty area, easily accessible and within an area that offers many other nature trips.
