Great trail for all skill levels. Midpoint at the beach with a beautiful view, tide pools, and many rocks to gather. My 2.5 yo and 5 yo loves this one!

Loved the hidden beach!

perfect for young children with plenty of rocks to scramble around on down at the beach.

An easy forested walk to the beach. Hard to find the short cut trail going back to parking lot. Wind your way behind restrooms and find camp site #1. The trail is there. Excellent hike for the out of shape.

Nice trail. We went counterclockwise and took the lower trail extension. Beautiful overlook remote picnic table location down there before joining the main trail again. Low tide allows you to walk along shore line below picnic area. More remote than end of trail beach location. Lots of driftwood.

We did the loop counterclockwise, but if we had it to do over again we would have come back the same way we went (staying west) to enjoy the views both ways. The east part of the trail is okay, but the view of the water is what makes the hike. Either way, it is well worth the short hike to get to the beach!

Feb 18, 2019: Hiked counter-clockwise, taking the right fork at the trailhead. The trail is well marked and in overall good condition. We took the first right off the loop to check out the beach, then headed back up and proceeded on with the loop, which leads to a campground and a second beach access point. After the second beach the steepest uphill portion of trail begins, going through scenic forest and encountering multiple blowdowns. Several information signs throughout the trail providing interesting history lessons of this and the sorrounding islands.

Lovely, family-friendly hike that leads to a rocky beach alcove. From the car park, hikers can choose upper or lower paths to travel. We chose to go left to hike in (upper) and then the opposite route (lower) to hike out. There are a few slightly moderate ascent/descents in certain areas depending on which way you're traveling, but for the most part the trek is easy-going. We've done this hike two other times when our son was four and six-years-old, and now at eight, he's an old hat at this one. The hike in leads to tent campgrounds and a beach alcove with a gorgeous view of the Obstruction Pass channel. I suggest wearing closed-toed shoes as the rocky beach does make it difficult to walk in sandals or other open-style shoes. Small tide pools allow for some exploration for kids. Leashed pets are permitted as well. Look for the wooden steps that lead down to the beach area. Lots of driftwood makes for great seating to just kick back and take in the scenery.

Very lovely! Easy even for this out of shape gal :)

Very easy walking trail. Beautiful views in the forest and great views of the lake. If you want a short hike or walk this is a beautiful place to be. You will pass the area where people are camping so if it’s an early morning walk you might see a few people emerging from tents.

Quick hike to a beautiful secluded beach and camping area.

Fun hike with a few variations to get to and from the beach.

Fun hike down to a fairly secluded beach. Steep in some sections of high path but easy overall. Not much in the way of views though until you reach the beach. Be sure to bring water, no faucet I could find at trailhead.

This trail is very peaceful and beautiful. It is fairly narrow and you really need to watch your footing due to tree roots and rocks along much of the trail. We went all the way down to the beach and back. I am fairly out of shape and was a bit out of breath on the way back, but for a normal person, I'm sure it's pretty easy. Overall, this is a very beautiful hike.

Great little hike for families. We called it crab city from the tons of hermit crab residents. It's one of our favorites.

This is a great little trail that is rarely used. We saw one person on our hike, and the views once you get to Obstruction Pass are fabulous. If you're in the area, make time for this trail. You won't be disappointed.
