This was a fun hike. The falls are definitely a trickle right now so not much to see when you get to the top. I did this hike with a dog and 5 and 7 year old and they handled it fine. PASS IS REQUIRED! $5 for a day or $30 for the year, we bought ours in Greenwater.

Just turnoff 410 at the blue Camp Sheppard sign. There's a pretty decent size paved parking lot and two pit toilets there at the trailhead. A Northwest Forest Pass is required. We went on a Friday afternoon and there was only two other cars in the parking lot and both parties were on their way down as we were going up. Hung a left at the first fork where the scout amphitheater is, went slightly around it. Then took the left at the sign for all the trails. The trail was in good condition and pretty dry. It was 1.45 miles to the rocky base of the falls. Not too much water coming down. Due to a time crunch we did not scramble over the rocks to get closer to the falls. It was a pretty and pretty easy hike overall.

Didn't find bugs to be a problem. Hiked with an eight year old. Saw a hiker with a leashed dog. Pretty much the whole trail is in the trees.
