Mount Spokane State Park is a 13,919-acre camping park in the Selkirk Mountains. The view at the top of the 5,883-foot elevation includes surrounding states and Canada. The forested park features stands of old-growth timber and granite rock outcroppings. In winter, the park receives 300 inches of snow.

This is a great family hike, especially if you have kids. If you want more of a challenge, take trail 140 just past the warming hut up to the saddle junction and then trail 110 back down to the loop road. This was a great workout at a total distance of 6 miles. If you're just looking for a nice snowshoe hike, stick to the loop road out and back. About 2 and a half miles.

Taken the loop but found this trail by itself is not enough of a challenge for me personally I have to add onto the miles, but as all the trails on Mt Spokane there is no denying the natural Beauty and the peaceful atmosphere

The experience are different each time I take the hike always rewarding and satisfying

Incredible drive with views at top. This is a drive with a scenic end. It is not a hike or a walk as indicated in the activities list.

There is already a fair amount of snow on this trail so be prepared. Follow signs to the lookout. The first 3/4 is fairly uneventful and easy, the last 1/4 feels like Narnia because you’re in a narrow path with low hanging branches and snow everywhere. Pretty beautiful!

Can't believe we've never done this hike, instantly one of my favorite local hikes! Gorgeous views on top of all 4 local lakes (Spirit, Hauser, Newman and Liberty). Must do again! Well marked Trails, maps to help, great hike!

The views are worth it.

Great for trail running! Hiked up, ran down. Time was limited so hoping to do the full loop soon.

Great view

This was the closest route for my hike to connect with, though I didn't do the entire 12.9 mile route. My hike was an enjoyable 7.7 mile loop to Mt. Kit Carson, not on to Day Mountain. There are starting points closer and farther from the destinations depending on how much time and energy you have.

This is a great hike for breaking in your new hikers. Pretty view at the top and lots of huckleberries right next to the trail!

Took the trail with or two toddlers in backpacks and had a great time! Next time will bring the dog. The trail detoured a little from the map due to downed trees but it was very clearly marked. The lookout at the peak is beautiful! Lots of people out picking huckleberries. Go early, the walk back was not very shady and got hot!

Fun hike. Nice trail. My son is 4 years old and did the whole thing himself! He was very excited to reach the top! We got a few huckleberries, they weren't quite ripe yet. Lots of green ones tho! We will come back! And they sprayed for bugs!

Nice walk trail is well maintained and great view at the top!

great hike, not challenging enough to be rated hard, except first half mile steep. Well maintained and on double track road most of the miles.

Second time in Mt Spokane State Park, this time to do a couple short hikes, including this one. I didn't find it super challenging. Not a ton of views along the way, but the view by the lookout tower is great. Felt a bit like invading territory since a family was renting the tower. I didn't go up on the lookout, of course, but the view around the corner is satisfaction enough.

Mt. Spokane is not one for remote hikers and mountaineers. Everywhere you can hike, you can also drive, and at the top you have unsightly towers and utility buildings. However, with an open mind there is much to enjoy here. With imagination you can pretend you are not close to paved roads along this trail because they are not visible. In fact, the route passes through very beautiful alpine scenery (though not quite the norm since it's below the treeline). The Bald Knob parking lot is open in the summer, so anyone can drive up and experience beauty that normally takes a backpacking trip and a difficult climb to see. Since it's so close to Spokane, this aspect alone makes Mt. Spokane - and particularly this section of trail - a worthwhile visit.

Did this at 7AM on Sunday and I was the only one parked at TH and on the trail the whole 80 minutes the hike took. Views from the summit are excellent. Trail was very good and obvious the whole way. Bug spray still is recommended for flies.

Was here a few weeks ago when some snow was still up there. Was a nice, easy moderate difficulty hike. Even with length, this is perfectly doable and don't let the hard rating scare you. Beautiful peaks! Some great diversity in the trail. Meadows, melting snow, mud, rocky lookouts, rolling hills. If you want to add some additional mileage to this trail, trek up to mount Spokane and back!

Beautiful trail with creek crossing bridges! A few steep inclines that make you sweat!
