Saw lots of different mushrooms on the trail. And some beautiful trees. Crossed a few bridges and got a great view of the falls. Turned around after crossing the bridge that crossed the river. Ended up being a little over a 2 mile hike. Easy trail with a little elevation gain.

Beautiful trail with some gigantic old trees. Even get to cross a suspension bridge. Easy hike.

I missed the good weather for this trail by about two days. Expecting 60's, 70's, I was met with 30s and rain/snow. It was still beautiful along the ridgeline but down in the valley, there was very little to be seen in the way of wildlife and we spent most of our time walking in a whiteout of clouds. I'd like to come back and try this one when the weather is better. I still haven't seen Rainier. Fog was too thick.

I went today - it was rainy, overcast & cold. My views definitely weren’t what other photos show but still a good little trail. I would consider this trail easy definitely not moderate as it’s listed. It’s got a couple climbs but nothing crazy. My phone says I went 3.1 miles in 1hour 28mins. The app also says like 500ft incline - the posted sign by the trail says 700ft. Wasn’t crowded maybe 5 other people on the trail.

Starts with old hot springs area (now cold) then onto beautiful forest meets meadow areas. Lots of markers identifying trees and plants. Easy 1/2 hour hike. Great for a rainy day.

Trail is quoted as .1 mile and it was longer. Was muddy and could have used a walking stick but beautiful falls and well worth it!

It’s like 6 different hikes in one! Such great variety, glacier lake, water falls, peak views, marmots, & packs of goats past the base camp

Crevasses are obviously opened up. its September so that shouldn't be a big surprise

Marmots, mist, moody and marvelous! Too cloudy to see Rainier but spectacular nonetheless. Started at White River campground via Glacier Basin trail and then took the fork after 2.4 miles to hop on Burroughs Mountain trail (labeled “Sunrise in ‘5 miles’”). Once you make it to fork a mile later where there is minimal vegetation, make sure to turn left if you want to hike the 3rd burrough otherwise it takes you to 2nd burrough.

Three waterfalls and spectacular views. Deer, birds, marmots but no bears. Although a few others that we talked to did see bears. There was one stream where they are building a bridge, but at this time of year it was not a problem. I would plan for 4 hours if you have never been there. There were times when we would just stop and look.

Gorgeous yesterday. Rain held off, only a few people on the trail. Clocked in at 10miles, not 8 on the activity tracker but may have been off for steps. Very gradual incline, well marked/developed path, took our time and enjoyed the view all the way. A few streams along the way to fill water bottles if you have a purifier.

Amazing hike to Mount Rainier! As New Hampshire natives, where our trails are rock scrambles straight up the sides of the mountains, we found the walking on dirt path to be fairly easy to moderate to First and Second Burroughs. The last leg to Third Burroughs was a little more challenging but completely worth it! We were lucky to have perfectly clear weather and we felt like we could reach out and touch Rainier. Jaw dropping views of the giant and its glaciers. We also saw marmots, pikas, and one mountain goat. 4 elk also crossed the road ahead of us on the drive up to the parking lot, making it a great wildlife day!

Amazing hike! Very well maintained, amazing views along the way, and the tough hike worth it when you get to the top! We were lucky: no bugs, no rain, no clouds! Super recommended.
