Great narrow trail with steep hills.

Never get tired of this hike. Do it several times a year. Views are amazing.

Loved this hike! Continuous elevation gives a good workout with beautiful views and well-maintained trail. I was here in May, and the wildflowers were lovely.

Great as a sunset hike! Bring a headlamp to get back down. The rangers usually close the gates at full dark

Beautiful views. Good variations in terrain. Wild flowers are lovely.

Great views.

Frat boys and sorority girls, welcome. This hike is definitely the right hike for you. Its not hard but just hard enough to call it a hike. You can make a fire Instagram post showing the world you actually do things other then drink and be frat. For everyone else, this hike is pretty meh. Its a great place to bring the kids and get outside, but it you're looking for a challenge or something to hike for, this hike isn't for you.

Sincerely, Go Cougs, Go Greek, and Go Acacia

Beautiful! loved hiking this trail!

Beautiful 360 views of The Palouse from the top. Go all the way to the top!

January hike on a sunny day. Icy trail on the north side in the shade. Enjoyed powering uphill wherever possible. Poles definitely came in handy.

Beautiful view.

Great trail. Easy fun hike that takes just a few hours.

An interesting piece of topography where a quartzite steptoe summits 650 feet over approximately a 3-mile ascent and return to the parking lot. Views to the south were excellent extending beyond Moscow and Pullman to the Wallowa range 100 miles off in the distance. It was a sunny afternoon with perfect temps in the 60's. So pretty well traversed with hikers from the area. Highly recommended for families with smaller children. Would rate this easier than moderate. Get yourself a backrest against an outcropping of granite and enjoy the view.

loved it. great for the kids and the dogs. We enjoyed the views. being new to the area, it was nice to find a place close to go for a hike.

Favorite local trail

Nice trail. I did the side trail that added 3 miles and went on private property. No dogs allowed on that section. Would make a great lunch hike.

Great area for the family to get outside. Walking the trail counter clockwise allows a steep 1.4 mile ascent with more gradual downhill for the return.

Shade is plentiful at the start and end but on top very little. Little ones will need sunscreen.

Very busy trail today, but still quiet enough.

The primitive trail says not for dogs.

Good views, especially during early Summer season.

Have done this many, many times. I especially enjoy going farther to the very top, then along the ridge, and the longer way down, a little more than 5 miles. Nice, shady park and picnic area is a great place to go mid-summer. Wildflowers are fantastic in mid-April.

Great views, trail is in very good condition. Excellent hike. It is 3.5 miles though not 2.4.

Nice hike to the summit. Left a little late for the sunset so I hiked a bit faster than normal for a good workout. Stayed the night in the campground and enjoyed that as well.

Good hike and some good views! you can do an hour hike or do the whole loop which takes about 2 hours. Easy to find.

A fairly easy trek. The trails are well maintained and wide enough to walk two by two. it is dog friendly, well marked, has plenty of parking at the trail head, and has a nice view of the palouse once you are at the top.

Good short hike, with great view of the palouse

One of my favorite spots on the Palouse. Kamiak offers a nice picnic area (with bathroom) and then a decent trail through woods and up to great views along the top of the ridge. There are some lesser-used trails that allow you to wander some of the lower areas of the park as well, which are nice when the sun is high. In the summer the park often offers different "campfire conversations" that bring local history and nature buffs in for free presentations.

Walked the loop that included the initial vista and the summit. Accidentally stopped recording for a portion of the hike. So, that's why it doesn't look like a loop. Excellent views and a pleasant hike.
