This snow shoe was passed on word of mouth and I couldnt find much on it. I was able to find a GPX that loaded into All Trails for navigation. I wouldnt call this easy, more like moderate but could be made hard if chosen. Parking was easy and free with no pass needed. We just started up and followed the trail upwards. We then veered off the ski trails and crossed a saddle and climbed a ridge line. This hike was done on an overcast day as the lower elevations were rain but we managed to get above the snow level. The views were nice but cloudy. If you went down the valley at the end you could would be at the Stevens Nordic Center. On the return we broke trail up a knob and explored. Where as we didnt have great views the scenery and beauty walking through the trees was incredible. We saw a few skiers but no others with snow shoes. Great exploration hike!

There is no sign to designate the split in the trail for Valhalla lake and McCausland but if you follow the directions on the website you'll have no issues! Awesome to see all the color changes this weekend!

Great day hike that is semi challenging toward the top. I recommend going to the top of the mountain and then taking a visit to Lake Valhalla below before you head back.

Gorgeous 360 view from the top and awesome detour to Lake Valhalla on the way back! Would rate it as moderate. Grand results for a shorter hike!

Awesome

Saturday 8-15-2015: My wife and I joined our hiking group to hike to Mount McCausland. The weather was cloudy and cool. The trail up to the mountain was very steep. Due to cloudy weather we had limited views.
