on High Point Trail

It's a loud gravel road just off the i90. An ok place to bring the dog and let them run off leash, but being so close to the highway it's definitely not relaxing.

4/1/2016 (Friday) -- This is a solo venture to W Tiger #1 beginning from High Point from 10:00 to 12:30 up by sequentially taking High Point, Dwight's, Lingering, TMT, W Tiger RR, Preston up, a short part of Bootleg to the service road, then down from WT2 to TMT, K-3, TMT (crossing the awesome Murat's bridge), and back to High Point (13:00 - 14:45). It's a pleasant sunny day, cool in woods, 58-68F, beautiful panoramic views at both sides of #1, light traffic, good trail conditions (only High Point being wet and muddy, but not too bad). At the top of Preston Trail, there is a large stretch of felled trees that broke the trail (TW1 bypass and Bootleg). It's tricky to pass through the radio towers with fence and gates. I sat at the bench in front of the gate alone for 20 minutes of lunch, facing Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, Olympic peaks. Two weeks ago, I came to the same place, but I could not stay there because of the strong wind and had to move down to the rocky service road for lunch.

Nice trail. Easy walk not very difficult. Can hear the highway.

This trail is a nice walk, super easy. Runs right along a creek with some good spots to check out the water. There is a lot of highway noise.

If you're looking for a challenge to work up a bit of a sweat, this one alone won't do it. But as someone else mentioned, you take a detour and make your own loop with the Grand Ridge Trail (at the south end of it).
