I loved the view from the top . The kids had a good time on the drive up which is fun in the snow.

great views.
good variety of landscapes.
good work out.

Lightly trafficked. A few spots were a bit icy. Beautiful trail with a breathtaking view at the top. I would do this hike again and again.

There was a lot of snow on road and one map said we were at trail. We decided to park and hike the road to trailhead. 2.5 miles we finally got to trail head. It was a pretty hike in the snow even on the road. It was getting dark so we decided wouldn’t have enough time to do the hike, with walking down road with the cars that still needed to come down. Snow was deep as we got higher. We had spikes so they helped walking the road.

It was a beautiful hike in the snow even though we didn’t make to trail.

This was amazing with the tacoma 4x4 offroad

Awesome short hike. View from the top is amazing.

You: Bring light Ice cleats, and a camera.

Transportation: having decent ground clearance is not a must have but surely helps. I wouldn’t drive up there in a sedan, but people do it.

lots of fun times on this trail! the view at the end is freakong amazing!!!

loved this hike! I am not in shape in anyway shape or form and I made it... It wasnt easy but I made it and thats all that matters i have hiked this trail about 7 times and it was gorgeous everytime! Unfortunately I didnt know about this app at the time but now that i have this app looks like its time to hike it again lol

A little busy but the view from the top was absolutely amazing! The trail was icy in several spots. Should have brought some light ice cleats but it was still doable.

Always an amazing hike!!

Actually was kind of an easy trail. there was a mini van, so you can probably bring anything up here. there were some spots though that was full of mud and water that was pretty fun. definitely a nice way to spend the day and even camp over night.

A beautiful hike!
I would suggest using a 4 wheel drive, or high clearance vehicle. The road to the parking is plagued with potholes. That makes the journey a lot longer to park. There are no facilities here.
It wasn't too busy, and it was a gorgeous fall day!

Love the place. Trail is not hard at all. Took my Tacoma TRD Sport and did good. Once you get to the end, the view is worth it!

Simply amazing. A relatively short hike with some of the most breathtaking views at the end. We were lucky to get a sunny fall day and see Rainier in all its glory, along with Adams and St Helens. The drop off the edge is insane, incredible photos for a little effort!

Amazing 360 view at the top. Great hike for being outside the national park and dog friendly. Road is gravel and bumpy all the way but low clearance cars can still make it. We hiked it 10/20/18, No snow sunny beautiful clear day. Fall colors were starting to die off but that didn’t change the view at the top. Great hike and view for short distance.

One of our favourite hikes we've done! The drive up through the trees in fall was fun and while it takes a little time, well worth the effort as you get some impressive views on the way up.
The hike itself was relatively short for an AMAZING reward. We saw Rainier, St Helens, Baker, Olympics and Adams all in 360 panorama. You get a perfect view of the Rainier glacier, without a ton of people around.

Beautiful hike! Not a long hike, but good elevation gain. We did it with a 9 & 7 year old. The kids had a great time, but they are used to doing these types of hikes. There was a 360 view that was incredible.

One my favorite hikes to take my dog on! The view on the top was amazing! Wonderful view of all the mountains!

Absolutely beautiful hike! We did this with a group of 6 on 10/13/18 for a sunset hike. Started hiking around 4pm-made it up at around 5:20 and we took it slow with some break stops and photo moments. Very good maintained trail. My app told me one way was 1.75 miles. Had plenty of time to take pictures before the sun set. 360 degree views all around! So glad we had plenty of time to take pictures because I just could not stop taking them! Gorgeous in every direction! Worth the short trek up! If interested in watching our adventure, video will be up in a couple of days!

Loved it .

This hike is short and steep but sweet! The views are amazing! We took quite a few breaks on the way up and still managed to get to the top in an hour. The road up is extremely rough, lots of potholes and ruts. There were a couple of low clearance vehicles at the trailhead when we came down so it is doable for sure. Just take your time!

amazing hike and amazing views!!!!! the weather was perfect, saw 3 mountains. very bumpy road but totally worth it!

Such a beautiful hike- I give it a 4.8. It was harder than moderate and the road in was indeed bumpy but the reward was worth it.

Beautiful fall day for a hike. The trail was in perfect conditions, there were bugs but the weren’t aggressive. My dog and I made it up easily, not a cloud in sight.

Such an amazing view! Even the woods are glorious on the way up. The last bit is relatively steeper because of the rock you have to climb but it is well worth it. The mountain is larger than life. We got to the top and we had a two minute view before clouds covered us but even that was worth it.

Amazing trail. Amazing view. Amazing weather. And amazing company. Couldnt have been better.

The views at the top are unparalleled - absolutely amazing. I was lucky enough to get a nice day, so I literally had 360 mountain views. I also had the whole lookout to myself! Three other people were leaving as I was about to hit the top, so I was super lucky.
As much as this hike kicked my arse (to which I’m still not really sure why - I’ve done longer, higher altitude and more elevation, and this seemed worse to me??), I would do it again for the views. Took me about 1h 10 to get up, and 50 minutes to get down - I’m not overly fit, and I took a lot of breaks.
There were a lot of bees at the top, which is kind of random haha but something to look out for.

Oh - and how has nobody mentioned the fact you drive about 9 miles on gravel roads to get here?! It’s absolutely, totally worth it, don’t get me wrong - but it was a very long half hour, especially knowing I had to go back haha!

The drive up is quite bumpy so be prepared to take your time. When we started the trail the weather was beautiful, blue skies with a few clouds. When we got to the top, clouds had completely covered anything that would have been a view. Very unfortunate, but will be trying again on a later date.

I really enjoyed this hike! I went on a day when it was raining a bit so my pup and I essentially had the trail to ourselves. The climb to the top wasn’t too bad and man was it worth it. The views were breathtaking. Even though it was cloudy and raining it was still amazing. I was not able to see Rainier because of the clouds but I plan on going back up on a clear day. The fire lookout is really cool too. You are able to go inside and sign a trail register. Lots of cliffs so please be careful! Rocks at the top can be slick in the rain.

I loved this hike. I literally gasped at the top. It was a beautiful view of the mountain! My 10 yr old and lil pups did great. Long bumpy road getting to the trailhead, but definitely worth the drive.
