5/13/2018 (Sunday) - 9:15-12:30, 65-75F, sunny, not hot in the woods. Up via Big Tree Ridge, Red Cedars, No Name, Bear Ridge, Tibbetts Creek, Tibbetts Marsh, Lost Beagle to the peak radio tower. Lunch with picnic table. Down via Shangri La, Surprise Creek, Precipice Top, Military Ridge, passing Harvey Manning Park, straight down via an unmaintained old and nice trail (very rarely used) to Newport Way TH. Busy Mother's Day, all parking lots are full. Lots of family groups. Trails are dry, very well-drainage.

Easy hike. We took whole family, kids and family members of all ages. Views are of forest and trees thought we might see a bit more of the area. We did stick to main loop. Maybe next time we will go off main trail to see if views change.

A very nice easy trail system that is nicely marked. It's a nice area and will definitely keep going back.

It was easy but it was beautiful by the falls. It gets better once your are off the gravel path.

Good running trail as the elevation gain is minimal for a hike but not a whole lot to see on the way. Moderate but persistent grade; there is more interesting terrain on the Anti-aircraft ridge trail and some cool logs you can jump over on your way up or down the mountain. There’s an okay view at the beginning of the trailhead of Lake Sammamish but there’s not much space to enjoy it.

I am not sure why this wouldn’t get more 5 stars. It’s appropriately rated, easy to get to, trial is nice, and there are many many smaller trails to make it more challenging or longer. I went to both waterfalls, the first set is about .5 miles from the cul de sac, and cascade waterfalls are 1.0 in but another .5 uphill to get to. Very little mud, very few hikers (2pm on a Thursday till 5pm). I had a small dog and a baby strapped to my front and was comfortable the whole time.

Well marked, relatively easy hike. Moderate traffic, saw about 15 people.

Great trail. Lots of different side trails to choose from. Far Country Falls was amazing to see

Great for the family or by yourself. Good views and leisurely hike. Make it more of a challenge by running it.

Great for after work walks with your pup!

Nice, short, mostly easy trail with a beautiful waterfall at the "end" of it as a nice payoff. Go on a rainy day if you want to see a bigger waterfall. During dry weather, it's barely a trickle.

Well marked. Mostly flat.

We took our 3 yr old, almost 2 year old twins, and 70 year old mother with a tender knee, and we loved this hike! The 3 yr old was able to walk the entire loop by himself even though the initial ascent was a bit steep. The 2 year olds walked most of the way except for the steeper bits. Mom made it through just fine as well! We saw Hairy Woodpeckers and heard a Pileated Woodpecker nearby. The creek was bone dry (8/6/17), but it was still really neat to walk along and see the rocks in the creek bed. Would love to do this again when the creek is in full force!

Wasn't what I expected. It was very dull for me & my dog. If you want a long flat hike for a few miles it's okay. But nothing special.

8/5/2017 (Saturday) - After 2 hot and smoggy days, this is a cool morning (65-70F in the woods). The creek is completely dry, no water at all. Easy walk for 2 hours (4 miles): Wideside - Indian - Red Town.

Very well maintained and signposted trails, but doublecheck your maps at each one. We had three on us and still made a wrong turn to add a mile. Great for kids and older folks, nothing too challenging.

Nice place to go walking. No spectacular views or anything. Pretty easy trails. Highly trafficked.

Nice easy hike for young kids. Convenient to Seattle and Eastside. Easy to find and ample parking.

Very easy and really lovely and peaceful

very easy hike, both of my knees are bad and this trail was pretty easy going. A couple of Tylenol were needed on the way back but not too bad.

Lots of pretty flowers. Found an oval worry stone in the ball park meadow, if anyone is missing it.

Short and easy hike with very little traffic. If your children are into slugs and snails, this is a great place to come.
Super safe trail for very young hikers as well.
