The Shy Bear trail has quite a bit of mud, but I was mostly able to walk around it.

It was a little difficult for me to navigate all the trails in this loop and thankfully this app allowed me to find my way around. Random spots of mud and lots of slugs on the trail today. The switchback on query trail (I think that what it was called) kicked my butt. I’m going to try going reverse next time to see if that’s easier. Go reverse by instead heading to the right through the field instead of left to go to the trail head

My pup and I had a great time. 7 miles with 1500ft elevation. A little muddy here and there but we just had a rainstorm two days ago. The waterfall is beautiful. Sat there and had a little short picnic. If you’re looking to do this backwards as some people suggested, the entrance is on the other side of the parking lot, the trailer parking lot where the stalls are twice as long. I can’t wait to come back.

Great trail near Seattle with nearby waterfalls. It’s worthwhile, particularly since it’s a short 20 minute drive from the city.

Good trail it clocks at 5,3 miles not sure the 3,7 where that comes from. Nice trail liked it . Gets very humid in the trail sweating more than the difficulty of the trail you would think ahead of time .

The parking lot was full at noon with people overflowing into the 'horse trailer' parking area. The trail was busy but not crowded. The packed dirt/gravel/crushed brick road was in easy condition, though all the side trails were quite muddy.

Went today (5/29/20) and the trail was in great shape. A few muddy spots from the rain earlier this week but dry otherwise. I ended up going counter clockwise and I think that made the hike more difficult because there was more uphill hiking than downhill but once you get past the first few miles it's easy. I think the AllTrails states are a little off. Completing this trail from start to finish as mapped with only a few very minor detours, my fitbit said I hiked a total of a little over 7 miles with a total elevation gain on 1954 feet. It was a bit more than I had planned on but it was worth it. I felt accomplished and there was some cool rock formations to see. It was a good workout I will definitely hike this one again.

Nice fairly easy hike. Mud was the primary obstacle. Not too busy up the Bear Ridge Trail, more people closer to the top. Nice deep forest setting, pretty flowers and even a curious little garter snake. Nice hike to get out for after work.

Nice vertical climb to a flat trails at top. Not to hard. Moderate of people. Some runners.

Really nice trail- found it wasn’t too muddy compared to most other trails right now, though there were a few muddy spots. Went early (around 7:30 am) on a Friday and only ran into a few people. Took my dog and she also enjoyed this hike!

Muddy but peaceful. Not a lot of people when I went on a Monday afternoon

Wish I had done the trail backwards. The first “peak lookout” was underwhelming, but towards the mid-end there was a better look out. There was a lot of elevation gain at the end which is why it might be better to do it backwards. Muddy but fine to walk through with hiking boots.

Simple trail with enough to keep the 4 year old and 13 year old interested. Was a bit damp today, lots of mud and slugs. The falls were full and pleasant due to recent rains, not overcrowded, we were out in the morning and had a snack on a bench in the meadow project at the end of the trail before returning.

Super easy trail! Kinda hard to find at first!

Great hike. It wasn’t too muddy, despite having rained the night before, and was good for the dogs and me. We made the loop shorter by taking Shy Bear Trail, but still got to see the Lookout. The lookout is a beautiful view and has a bench, but there’s only enough space for one group of people to sit there and enjoy it at a time. It wasn’t very busy, and no one else came by while we were there. Beautiful foliage everywhere we went. Very dense forest without many views of the city or surroundings, except for the one lookout point. Most of the trail wasn’t crowded, except for the waterfall we crossed by which is on a trail close to an access point to the park. Would recommend this hike to friends looking for a moderately challenging hike without a lot of elevation gain.

Trail was slightly muddy in spots. Slow going for us due to pulling puppy, lots of pictures, and stopping for people to distance passing. Waterfall was pretty, but hard when someone was having a meditation/dancing session in everyone picture of the waterfall. So that wasn’t ideal. Wasn’t busy when we started at 8:30, but when we were done at 10am it was a full parking lot and trail was busy. Minimal bugs.
