It’s a beautiful hike, however you have to step aside many times for the people on horseback (who sometimes are riding quickly but thankfully you can hear them coming) also accompanied with the beautiful scenery you will hear constant gunshots from the nearby shooting range. Overall it was a beautifully forested hike, the waterfall would be difficult to see for some because you do have to climbing through trees down a steep slope to get to it.

Stroller friendly for the little ones and provides many opportunities to see wildlife. I come here often and we see many different birds, turtles, salamanders and we try to see the beaver but have no such luck. My family loves this trail because it’s easy and a perfect way to unwind in nature.

Beautiful morning hike with a little mist. Had the trail all to ourselves. Very easy with many good pictures along the way. Rocks at the end are slippery, we went down backwards with no problem. We’ll definitely be back to camp here.

Beautiful scenic walk! This time of year, things are a little damp, but that made for a nice cascading waterfall!! As long as you watch your step on the trails, you'll be A-okay

loved it however didn't make it all the way to the falls my son decided he wanted to turn back just short of getting there. yes there are gunshots at the beginning but that's because. there is a range not far away. I like the sound of gunshots so thought it was pretty cool. passed lots of horses other dogs and just people in general. we had a blast our two dogs loved it. lots of fun. as for dogs eating horse poop yea it happens dogs love horse shit, tell them to leave it and move oh. I will be visiting this trail many more times!!!

This was not the best hike I’ve ever been on, actually it’s one of the worst in the PNW. Regardless, there was some scenic and beautiful areas for photos. The waterfall was not worth the hike in though, when we went it was pretty much dried up and a trickle not waterfall! That’s what summer heat will do to it, I guess. There are a lot of signs to guide you. We had a hard time finding the actual location and parking area, using our GPS. We like the fact that you can choose how far you want to hike by the different entrances. We did the medium length hike, almost 7 miles with our 8 year old.

Really nice walk with the dog today. We enjoyed the sound of the rain in the trees and watching the mists weaving through. A few walkers only.

Mostly uphill but absolutely beautiful. Took the whole family including a 7yr old. They enjoyed the hike and didn’t feel it was too steep. It was clear some maintenance has been done on the trail to insure safety. For people who spend money on the discovery fees, feel good about the money being used properly here.

Get past the first portion and the poop and gunshots quantity swiftly declines. The falls were nothing special but were a decent marker for getting there. I went a bit past the falls to see what else was going on there and it wasn't too bad. I think I'd like to try the giant 14 or so mile loop at some point. Turned around so it wouldn't be dark before I got back.

A couple things. This should be called the Mima Falls East trail in this app. There are East and West trails according to the DNR maps and signage. The East trail is this trail that takes you to the falls. If you go beyond the falls, you are then on the West trail.

As you are headed in, be sure to follow the Mima Falls East signage. At one point you will come to some signs that give you an option of Mima Falls East or Mima Falls Tie. If this is your first time, just stick to Mima Falls East.

Great trail for Mt. Biking. Depending on which way you go around the loop you could end up biking uphill most of the way. My 8 year old boy did the whole loop and loved it.

Quiet, lovely trail and an old growth grove at the highest elev.

Trail was a little under maintained and required crawling under a tree or two, though wasn't an issue for me or my two young kids. I only wish that we didn't have smoke from far away wildfires to contend with because the views would have been amazing.

The longer loop is a little rocky but overall it's a nice walk. There are a lot of grasshoppers so watch your step and try not to smoosh them! Also, ladies don't wear a v-neck! I had two hit me on the lower chest area and they might have gotten in my shirt if it had been lower cut. Wish there wasn't a gun range close by, you can absolutely hear the rounds going off.

This hike was pretty easy. Passed runners, bikers and two horses on narrow trails. My dog kept eating horse poop, so that was no fun. The falls were basically a trickle of water that we passed because it wasn’t marked. No rewarding views.

Nice walk for kids and the short walk is ADA accessible. Very easy for families, but not for people looking for a good work out. We didn't hear any gunshots, thankfully, as others have. Interesting natural site.

great hike when you have kids. there is a couple spots that the kids can swim, nothing too deep or crazy.

Great hike for littles, though my 4 yo fell in on a slippery rock

Nice run... nice and peaceful trail. Some of the parts were narrow and I had to wait for bicyclist to go through, but that is really not anything to complain about. My biggest complaint was that I heard many small caliber gunshots at the very beginning of the trail. I no longer heard any closer to the falls, just at the beginning of the trail. Based off of the name, I was expecting a nice run to a beautiful waterfall… But that’s not the case. The “falls“ were so small that it is possible to even miss it. I heard some running water hiked down a baby trail and saw it. If you are looking for a nice waterfall, the nicest in the area is Tumwater Falls. If you are looking for a nice hike or trail run, this is the place.

I hiked up toward the Margaret McKenny Campground and loop back around to the Mima Falls. Not much of a visual hike. The day before, there were horse events, so the trial was riddled with horse poo. It was hot and nasty that morning and the water fall was terrible. The only good thing about the hike was at the top you had a clear look at Mt. Rainier.

Great trail for mtb! U just need to know where your goin' it is easy to get lost; like we were.
I like how long the trail is.

Great trail! The only downfall is it having potholes. And, don't bring your 55 yr. old dad.

Nice hike to a small waterfall. Also good for mountain biking.

Fine hike, but the falls were tiny and not a worthwhile endpoint. The “day use area” by the falls is little more than a picnic bench.

Awesome trail for kids and family. Easygoing trail.
