Forest Hill Park

Overall an enjoyable hike but longer than we anticipated. Everyone on the trail was courteous and shared the space well. We went west on the Buttermilk Trail from the parking lot. This section was difficult but worth it with elevation changes and a couple rock scrambles. Crossing the river on the Boulevard Bridge had great views of the river and the Dooley House of Maymont. We then followed the North Bank trail, which was easy until we got past the neighborhood streets beyond Maymont and then we were back to elevation changes, switchbacks, and a lot of loose rock/gravel that made it difficult. The walking bridge and Belle island were easy. We took the pedestrian bridge from Belle to the southside and followed the Reedy Creek high water trail back to the parking lot.
