Bring lots of water. There is not much available by the shelter. Beautiful views. Started from rt2 and went to mansfield trout club. Definitely a strenuous hike in this weather. (Mid 80s)

Great hike overall! Steep uphill for a bit at the beginning with great views of Mt Mansfield on the way up. No vista at the top, but the pond has several great spots for eating lunch. The mileage estimate is quite a bit off, it’s likely closer to 9 miles round trip, but certainly worth it.

Nice easy hike after a long drive to Vermont, get the legs streched out. Good for all ages.

Great hike. Was more than we bargained for with it being our first hike of the season. View of the pond was beautiful on a chilly and foggy morning!

Great hike, a pretty sustained incline. Went further up to Taylor lodge for a turnaround spot. Saw lots of salamanders along the trail, which kept my kids engaged. A little muddy still. Fairly popular, so you’re definitely coming into contact with other people on this trail.

Enjoy the hike along the lake because it’s a sustained slog, passing a waterfall, to the lodge. Continue up another couple hundred feet to a beautiful view of the notch.

More challenging than I expected but a very pretty hike. The bugs are out and so are the snakes, but the trail is well kept. We almost turned back due to all the Private Property signs but the property has a Public lot and many signs to keep you on the public trail

A great hike through the woods. There are some really pretty waterfalls almost near the top, and we saw a large moose print in one of the muddy spots. There's not a whole lot to see at the lodge - do yourself a favor and take the first couple hundred yards on the Clara Bow trail to the overlook.

Beautiful waterfalls. Interesting terrain with a decent climb. Not a great view at the top (top is a lodge with a small lookout area). Muddy mostly at the beginning.

Such a beautiful hike! There was quite a wet stream crossing because of the recent rain. Cute cabin at the top with beautiful views and great place to have lunch. We added the Clara Bow to LT Loop which was amazing! Definitely technical with a ladder down a cave, so not sure dogs could do the added loop.

Great trail! Beautiful clearings and terrain to admire as you walk. The cabin at the top is so unique and a great place to have lunch (2 built-in picnic tables). Our dog had a blast. New favorite!

Some very thin ledges along the way, in front of a waterfall. Cool cabin at the top.

Chickened our the last 120 feet Becuase fear was real on a sketchy path.
