One of my favorite climbs.
Starts out with 500 feet vert on fire roads and then proceeds to switchbacks for the next 1000 feet.
Once you get to the "mini fir" path section above tree line, you get to the bench, which marks the final 1300 or so feet of climbing.
This is where the real trail begins as it is mostly single track and rockier.
There are some slick rocks nearing the top as ice had formed on many of them.
Coming out of the dense evergreen section near the top, there is a gated in small mechanical structure (maybe a transformer?) and then you either go left to make the final climb to the summit or right to lookout rock.
Pretty cool that it started to snow when I got to the summit. Got up in 50 minutes, which seemed like a decent time until I checked Strava and saw some superhumans summiting in under 35 minutes!!!
Normally I visit Equinox when the St. Bruno Viewing Center is closed for the season, but this year it was still open.
It's worth checking out.
Views from summit and lookout rock are beautiful.
