Interesting to maneuver over the rocks and hike along so many tree roots. Free to park across the street from the Inn at the Long Trail and take the Sherbourne pass behind the Inn.

I live close and it’s one of my favorite places to hike. The view is great.

Good trail for everyone, a little challenging in the front half, beautiful views at the end. Muddy spots sporadically throughout the trail.

Awesome trail, a lot of fun and easy enough for novices. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good time and that can climb around and up/down some rocks!

There are several ways to get to the Deer Leap Overlook. I parked in the parking lot at Gifford Woods, walked toward the campsites in the park and started on the AP/LT entrance just beyond campsite 10. It’s pretty much up until you get to the rocks and the view , but nothing crazy. And the view is really awesome. I had it all to myself for at least 20 minutes on a Thursday. Well marked and really interesting tree roots on the ground. Going down was a little tricky as it had rained day before and it was muddy and rocks slippery, but I took my time and no problem. I really liked this hike- a good workout without being too crazy with a payoff at the top!

Nice short hike with a pretty view at the top . Quite rocky so I would recommend hiking boots rather than sneakers. Enjoy!

I was looking for a quick hike to do and this was perfect. Lots of rocks and exposed roots to be tripped over so do watch your step. Views at the outlook were fantastic. Some parts were still a bit muddy, but nothing to be concerned about. The trail was well marked and there were a few signs to point you in the right direction. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to do something short, but still be rewarded with great views!

My favorite trail up here so far. At the top got to see the other peak we did (Pico peak). Bit muddy

Fun hike, beautiful view. I wish it were longer.

Moderate hiking very worn trail lots of useage. beautiful rock steps in a number of places makes much easier. Enjoy

Had an excellent hike here today with the dogs. Encountered several other groups of hikers, and a number of dogs. All were cool and there for the same reasons. Definitely recommend this hike if you only have a short time.

Lush trail well marked with yellow strokes on trees and well maintained.

Nice short trail. Conditions were good, a few muddy spots but not too bad. Trail was very well marked. The overlook view was great, nice big open rockface to sit and enjoy the sun.

Beautiful trail. Challenging at times, so not a beginner level. Trail blazes are clear. lots of exposed roots.

Great trail. Rocky with tree roots to navigate. There were 2-3 places near the top I could’ve gone off trail if I didn’t have the app to consult, but mostly marked well (I’m a novice hiker.) A few other families/couples on the trail but still pretty quiet. I enjoyed this one!

About a mile up, pretty steep, still not that hard if you workout or are athletic. Highly trafficked, a lot of children and families. A bit touristy and not the best if your local. Outlook at the top is beautiful. Overall it was a good day but I was begging my friends to hike some more!

This is always a favorite. Nice workout.

Very well marked trail. Limited views at the top. Would rate this trail easy, not moderate. Very muddy this time of year.
