Spikes are definitely recommended ! Great views! Love the trail dawgs.

About 3 inches of snow overnight. Spikes were extremely handy on the way down. Gorgeous view on the top lots of fellow hikers on the trail

Quite muddy, but passable. The upper slopes, especially, have lots of wet, muddy leaves covering rocks, so the footing can be treacherous. It was actually more difficult coming down the mountain than going up. But the view at the top is -completely- worth it. One of my new favorite hikes.

A bit muddy, slippery in places, but a great hike with great views at the top.

good steep trail that was really muddy this time of year. good views at top. saw the two resident labs that live at top.

Going up to Pinnacle is worth it! On the other hand, the path between Pinnacle and Hogback is more technical than all the above. Unfortunately no point of view made to Hogback and no indication that you got there!

Great trail and worth the climb! It takes about an hour and half to get to the summit, but extremely worth it. With beautiful views of the surrounding hills, it is wonderful to do in a nice day in early October to see the foliage. Be aware that there is the occasional muddy spot and the steep inclines can get slippery with mud and leaves. I did this while not in shape, so I had to take a few breaks at the top, but there is room to step aside and rest. Highly recommend!

great trail... a bit of a steep climb bear the summit. the views from the top was definitely worth it.

Easy hike, with easy footing and marking. Great crowd on weekends. Kids from 5 years walking to 75 years. The view is spectacular. A must hike

Good hike, well marked trail, very busy on a Saturday morning. I'm out of shape and had to take a few breaks, but I was able to summit in just over an hour. Particularly busy from where the Meadows parking lot trail meets the main trail up to the top. Beautiful views from the summit. Worth the effort. Bring poles for the descent if there is any rain.

Highly recommend! We saw so many doggies and the views at the top were incredible. It was only a little slippery on the way down.

Amazing!! We parked at pinnacle meadows. Some steeper sections but still doable with a 30lb toddler on my back. AMAZING views. Very busy though, lots of off leash dogs.

Short effort, great reward. To do at sunset, the view is superb!

Beautiful views up top! Muddy from all the rain, but easy to traverse if you step carefully.

I’m not an experienced hiker so found this a little difficult, but completely worth it! The view was beautiful and enjoyed making friends up/down the mountain, the more the merrier right? I can’t wait to hike this trail again!

The trail goes through the woods and there are no views until you get to the summit. It is definitely not strenuous. Wet, muddy and slippery in spots but you don’t need to be in great shape. The worst part about the hike was the crowds. It was extremely crowded. But lots of dogs which is fun. Beautiful views at the top but again, it’s so crowded that it’s hard to find a spot to enjoy some viewing time.

Anything over Mount Hogback is a challenge. The ascent from Stowe Pinnacle up to Hogback is technical and relentless. It's one of my favorite gems right when the crowds below on Pinnacle fade. There was ice on a lot of the rock higher up. Treking poles were very helpful. This hike is an enjoyable butt kicker with a stunning view from Worcester. Very wet in spots and it's definitely not a ridgeline trail with 4k ft of elevation! I will do this one again!
