Explore the most popular birding trails in Zion National Park with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

This was a very crowded hike, way to many people on the paved trail that went to the dirty pool of water. I think there are a lot better hikes to do while here in Zion. The best part was the weeping walls at the top by the pool.

We really enjoyed this trail, being that our 12 year old didn't want to make the climb from within the park. I didn't think it was hard to find at all. I googled East Mesa Trailhead in Springdale, and my phone took my right to the parking area.

For the reviews that say this is boring... I'm not sure what those people are looking for when they hike. If you look around while hiking this trail, there is so much beautiful nature to take in. It was quiet and not crowded until we got to the merger with East rim trail. From that point on, it was rather crowded. Now for the destination - So worth it! I didn't realize how great the views would be from this point. Looking down on Angel's Landing was a great view, and it looked so small from this point!

The trail is mostly slight uphill the whole way, until about a mile to the end, it is downhill to the observation point. That of course makes for some uphill walking to head back out if you are doing the out and back. We checked out some of the side trails towards the top - they go to some pretty amazing views as well.

Such amazing views

This trail was so much fun! Yes, challenging around the rocks, but not impossible. I was wearing a dress and running shoes. It worked just fine.

Loved this hike. Beautiful views along the way and especially at the end. It was cold in the morning but hats and coats made it perfect!!!

Nice short hike in Zion National Park. My GPS read 3.7 after the round trip. It was fairly busy, but not like some of the other trails in Zion. I was a little surprised by the traffic level being that it is so close to the visitor center. Good views from the top, and we did the loop around the mesa.

Good little hike for anyone. I recommend doing this hike before angels landing as this is nothing in comparison.

Amazing hike. Make sure you descend the correct trail in the beginning. Truly an incredible experience!!

Short, relatively easy hike but great views along the way. Left the visitor center at 5pm and was back by 6:45. Also saw 2 big horn sheep at the top near the scenic loop!

This is a canyoneering route... thanks for saying so Alltrails....

It was raining and the water was about 38 degrees, but it was worth every moment of it. Make sure to have water shoes and hiking pole because the current can get a little rough when it rains. Also, pack lunch and extra clothes in a water bag.

Nice quick trail with a great waterfall at the end. However, navigating over the rocks was trickier than we thought, so not all of us were able to make it to the waterfall.

Great trail and an easy hike. It’s well marked and had little traffic while we were out. The overall hike is closer to 7 miles from the Staves Spring trailhead parking. The view at the end is totally worth it! Definitely recommend!

This hike is a hidden gem in Zion. We didn't see many people and the views are wonderful. On my map, the distance was measured as 2.5 miles - it felt longer. After reading other reviews, it seems only the loop is actually 2.5 miles. There is a lot of sand, but it sorta adds to the hike. The views are killer. We're so happy we did this trail. Definitely go clockwise around the loop!

This was such a great option for hikers that don’t want to climb the 2,000 foot elevation to make it to observation point.
Took us a little while to find it, half the time we were wondering if we were going the correct way.
I have a lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis and used supplemental oxygen during this hike. I could definitely tell the air was getting thinner as we went higher.
There was one spot on the way back that offered to be quite the challenge for me. There is a pretty steep hill before this trail meets up with the East Rim trail. I’m not going to lie, having to climb up it on the way back wore me out!

An easy, paved trail that's relatively steep in places, but the hike is worth it.

Beautiful views at the top. The first portion of the hike is relatively easy. There are some steep switchbacks up the mountain until you get to the flat forest-like portion at the top that leads to Observation Point. Only took us about 3.5 hours to do the whole hike, including our rest at the top for pictures and snacks. Worth going to check out Weeping Rock by the start either before or after your hike too.

Second time here to the narrows and just as beautiful as ever! Make sure you wear the right shoes though and preferably have hiking poles; we passed quite a few people trying to attempt this barefoot with no poles or anything and they looked like they were having a horrible time. It’s worth it to come prepared! :)

Nice paved path to get you to the start of the water. Watch your step in the water and you should be good, take your time, it’s crowded, always!

Harder than expected due to poor navigational skills and a sprained wrist. Would have loved to make it to the top, but turned back at the arch.

Awesome views. Get an early start with the heat. Not too hard and well worth the effort!

It's a nice stretch and you can see a garden on the rocks and squirrels and mules. Was exciting and mostly used as a trail head to narrows.

Great hike! No crowds, lots of water filled pools, as we just had three days of rainy weather! Only saw one tad pole, might be too late in the season. We did continue up the canyon until it got really difficult. Only saw two couples on our way out. Fun slick rock walking, not much of a defined trail to follow, some slot canyon walking, really cool.

Short but very scenic hike. Lots of different vegetation, rock and amazing views of the Watchmen once you get to the loop trail. Best if you are at the viewing spot just before sunset so you can watch the mountain glow and change colors as the sun sets upon it.
