Hike to 200-million-year-old dinosaur tracks, boat and fish on Red Fleet Reservoir, and camp or picnic in a campground overlooking a sandstone and desert landscape. In the heart of Dinosaurland, Red Fleet is a destination in itself and great location for discovery of the area.

We chose this as our first family hike with our four kids ages 3-10. We had a blast! Very few rough places, and the end point was breathtaking! The kids loved the painted dinosaur footprints that mark the path, and seeing the real dino tracks at the end was pretty incredible!

Such a fun trail! I’d rate it more moderate for trail running due to the slick rocks and sand but it would definitely be an easy hike. Absolutely gorgeous views and lead to the reservoir where you can jump in to cool off and then look for the dinosaur tracks. Would be really fun to take kids on this hike.

Delightful. There is a trail guide that corresponds with numbered posts. There is a sign at the end that points out where the dinosaur tracks are. There is little shade and it’s uphill on the way out so keep that in mind. Did it on a Monday afternoon in October and didn’t see another soul. It was perfect out!

Stunning views. You can't see many tracks anymore but it is still well worth the hike.
