Great hike to do with kids. We did the Chuckwalla connecting to Turtle Wall. The kids loved the climbing/bouldering opportunities! Very wide defined trail. Definetely will do again for the "natural playground"!

I'm not sure how to make this a loop hike. We started at the Paradise Rim trailhead and hiked to Scout Cave and ended up coming out I believe at Johnson Canyon in Snow Canyon. Luckily, we had a family member to come pick us up to take us back to our car. Would love to do again and figure out how to make it a loop hike. The trail was beautiful from Paradise Rim to Scout Cave, lots of fun lookouts. Hiking out from Scout Cave you're hiking in a wash, nothing much to see from there. Would do again, but would like to figure out the loop.

Went for my morning run before sunrise. Did the first part with the headlamp. Nice overlook on the sleeping city.Easy trail. I did park at pioneer hills headtrail, crossed the road and joined this trail at the middle, did the loop and came back to the trail start, then came back to the parking along the red hills pkwy and run on the other side on pioneer hill trail, which is a dirt road with very nice views too. Could not run the whole trail and got lost once or twice. But google map helped me find my way back

Hiked from Yellow Knolls parking and looped back on Black Glutch which is a boulder choked wash. Very difficult even going down the wash. Sturdy boots and trekking poles strongly advised.

We had great time on this trail. It was not too hard or too long just a nice hike. We took about two hours to do Scout Cave and Johnsons Arch.

We started the trail from a pullout just off the the road (Red hills parkway). We parked in a dirt lot and started the trail. This was an easy beginner trail for my husband and I, but a challenging and fun trail for our kids (4,6,9). Our 4 year old got a bit nervous about the ups and downs and rocky terrain. Our other kids loved it! There was a fun section of Cairns along to path to stop and admire and add to. We didn’t finish the loop, but finished at Dixie rock.

a wonderful short and easy hike wit some cool rock formations to see.

A really good trail. We went there looking for the Anasazi cave. We walked right past it, it’s not well marked but we finally found it on the way back.
Well-maintained and a great place to relax on a nice hike. No crowds either we only saw about five people in two hours.

Great trail after you turn left toward Dino Cliffs. Lots of beautiful scenery, fun rock formations and views of the city. We hiked this trail, others were mountain biking and made me want to bring my bike back and try it :)

One of my favorite biking trials in the area, fun ride with great views.

We hiked the Yellow Knolls/Black Gulch loop. The brochure from Red Cliff Desert Reserve says Black Gulch is a "rugged route in rocky wash bottom" It was all that and more. The wash is full of rocks and boulders and you are walking on, up, over and around rocks and boulders. There are several dry waterfalls and we had to backtrack often and look for the best way down. No equipment was needed but we did do a little jumping. A nice surprise was the water sculpted rocks in the narrow section of the canyon. Lots of potholes but only one had water in it and we skirted around it. This trail was hard for us, we took a beating, it took us 2.5 hours to do this 1.7 mile stretch. We did see rabbits and deer on this hike. Our ages are late 60s so you younger folks will probably not have the problems that we did. The rest of the hike on Yellow Knolls trail was much easier and had nice rock formations.

Nice short hike. Took the Paradise Rim Trail that gives you a good view overlooking the area.

Easy trails that were fun to hike. Started with Chuckwalla TRAIL as a connector. Then hiked Halfway Wash Trail all of the way. Then connected to Paradise Rim Trail, which had great views. From there took Turtle Wall Trail back to Chuckwalla to finish up. Nothing terrifically difficult but a good hike.

Actually we hiked up to Elephant Arch starting at the Mill Creek TH and then following Bone Wash. The trail started out a double track that goes to a Washington City well. After that it follows a sandy wash bottom. Well marked trail to an interesting Arch that really does look like an elephant. Easy hike but sandy most of the way.

Fun trail with the kids. Lots of adventure points - rock climbing, tree climbing, rock scrambling, stick and squash collecting. Lots of hikers and dogs on the trail.

We didn’t do an out and back. We ended up doing a loop and connecting into the Paradise trail. It was gorgeous! One of my favorites. A little sandy at times, but a great outing.

Pretty and peaceful. Great views of the surrounding areas and views of Zion National Park. Saw a few trail runners and a couple other hikers. For the most part we were the only ones on the trail.
