We took the trail in a clockwise direction from where the Birdseye Trail meets this trail. We went up the hill then down the other. The way back was on a flat trail from the visitors center back to the parking area. The start of the trail was a little steep in places with a few switchbacks. There were a few benches which provided a nice view. There were many wooden posts with numbers from 1-13. I am not sure what they represented. There were a few diversions we took from the trail that were neat little places to explore. This is a fun little trail that can provide a lot of interesting formations and different colors of rocks to look at.

I like this trail a lot. But, like an idiot, I wasn't able to research it enough before going and got to see and spend time only at one arch. So, that means we have to come back again! Keep in mind that there will be about 4.5 miles in on dirt roads to the trail. The day we were on the roads, they were pretty good and dry, though a few parts had washed out on road sides, and the road was quite rocky. We had a Volvo station wagon which navigated it well, lower clearance vehicles may have posed a challenge. The drive takes longer than walking on the trail. But this trail would not be for finishing a hike.... Though we only saw one arch, we spent an hour and 15 minutes doing .6 miles in and out. If we had been able to see other arches, we'd spend more time.

The first 9 miles are suitable for road bikes as it's a paved pathway.

Top notch views, short but sweet!

Beautiful in November. So many hoodoos and arches you walk right past. Amazing vista is red rock and green mountains. Nice little side trip.

golden wall is the best trail in red canyon, steep tho

Tourist trap, go when it’s raining! Although it’s really pretty during the sunset hours.

Lots of options. Not super crowded. Bonus to take the pups out.

Exceptional MTB Trail. I would not recommend for inexperienced riders.

Because there are so many "use" trails in the area it takes a little work to find the trail. You go straight for a few hundred feet. Then look for a trail to the left and look for a small sign. There is a switchback that goes to the small sign that says "End Trail". However the map that you get at the visitor center show the trail also forking to the right before the steeper part of the climb and generally contours to the right until it joins the "Birdseye". You can return back to where you started by turning right at this junction. Look at the OSM layer for details of the trail.

This is a beautiful trail that has an Interpretive Guide to let you know about the area. This was my favorite trail of the 4 trails that I hiked on the north side of Highway 12.

Easy walk through hoodoos. Many use trails along the trail that climb up to the Hoodoo's

This trail does have nice views but on portions of the trails that are close to the road you also have the road noise. Still it's a nice trails with some wonderful views and interesting formations
