This hike is awesome! As you get closer to the top, the trail becomes less clear and pretty craggy. I echo the other reviews — you’ll need to keep the trail map handy because it’s really easy to turn off the wrong way and end up at a dead end. Views are worth it though.

Started from the mount wire pioneer trailhead, steep but with great looks, descended gently from the living room trail. Very pleasant

The living room trail itself is nice but I love running up here more than anything. Plenty of individual and connecting trails with plenty of up and down hill for an extra challenge. Lots of dogs! Pretty crowded on a Saturday morning but still had space to run.

We went clockwise and I would not recommend that. Especially if you have dogs like we did. The path was not marked and there were tons of trails. We had to check our map multiple times. It was also a rocky scramble. But the trail on the other side was good.

Busy trail today with lots of families hanging out on top. There are a few spots along the trail where it’s icy but if you’re careful it’s not bad. I recommend poles and crampons is you are not sure-footed. The views are epic. I wish the inversion would blow out though.

Red Butte loop to Mt. Wire. Great hike.

Lovely hike if you’re short on time. Moderate enough to be a decent workout going up (took 40 minutes up), and cool city and Mountain views at the top. I’d love to catch the sunset up there next time. Took me 1 hour and 15 total with plenty of photo breaks.

Fun little hike! Definitely a good and quick workout. Nice view of the city! There were a lot of dogs and my dog loved the trail as well. This is a great trail of you want a quick walk through nature and you’re limited on time.

Pretty top overview of the city ! For a active hiker this hike was very easy and short , the top is so worth it ! The trails are a bit confusing since there’s no signs anywhere but keep going uphill where you see the rocky trail , or follow the map on here !

Worth the climb. Time it for sunset at the Living Room

Fun hike with a great 360 view of the city and surrounding lands at the top. I was too much of a wimp to climb the tower but that probably has better views. The trail itself was a steady climb to the top with no real technical parts to overcome. Many parts of the trail were loose gravel so you can lose traction especially going back down but it isn't too steep. I stopped at the Living Room on the way down which was surprisingly empty. But when I left there were a lot of people coming up, to see the sunset I'm guessing.

Pretty good ascent up until you hit the switchback, Beautiful view at the top!

Solid intro to SLC hike. Something you can definitely bring out of towners on without acclimatizing folks to show them a great view of the city.
