This was a fun hike. It was a bit strenuous to me due to the elevation, but the pictographs make it all worthwhile. There is no restroom, no trash can, no picnic area so be prepared to squat in the woods! It’s sandy and you will acquire a fair amount of sand in your shoes/socks. I sat on the ground behind the rope and stared at the pictographs as I ate my packed lunch. The longer you stare at the wall, the more pictographs you will notice. It’s an awesome thing to see if you have the time. I would not recommended bringing your dog as there are some steep drop offs. Driving to the trailhead will take some time as the sand is deep in spots. I would not recommend if you’re not in a 4WD or ATV. Some spots in the road are impassable for oncoming traffic. Plan about 30-40 minutes for the drive into the trailhead. Letting some air out of your tires helps when driving on this terrain.
