Only went up to Lone Rock but the view was great there. Just so AllTrails users know, the road is closed for the season about a mile and a half before the trail head, so bear that in mind. Also the trail was quite muddy and slick towards the beginning of the ascent.

Tough hike but great view of both valleys.

Great fun trail. A must do with a group. When we got there, the road was closed, so that added another mile to the hike. The hike was very muddy, but very fun. Make sure you use the app to know where you are. There are diverging trails and we got lost and had to backtrack on one of them. The view is amazing. Hardly anyone was on the trail besides us.

Beautiful hike. The beginning was easy over packed snow and little to no ice. Never used spikes, but used hiking poles which really helped with the second half of the hike as the trail became steeper and more snow. We made it about 4 miles in and turned around before the lake. The trail diverted into a few different paths but we kept post holing and decided to turn around.

A great winter hike. Moderate traffic of backcountry skiers.

One of my favorite places to hike! Never disappoints. Always peaceful and serene with few people on the trail. Hiked it yesterday... was the only one on the Maybird turn off. Trail ran a chunk of it, mostly on the downhill, too steep for me to run up most of it. Used a new pair of icebugs cleated trail running shoes. The snow tracks don't follow the real trail but they get you there fine. I didn't realize it had dumped me out at the highest lake, so I kept hiking up a snow shoe track til i realized I was almost to the saddle up there, so turned around. beautiful day. nice to get above the inversion. Sad that we have haze in the air from the California fires right now. Could smell and see it. Maybe consider wearing a filtering mask until the fires quit out west.

No snowshoes needed today, but slushy and slippery. Micro spikes used after 9200 feel.

Nice winter hike. Trail is in pretty good shape right now. Snowshoes are overkill and there’s only a bit of ice.

Beautiful hike. It's pretty icy right now, spikes would be helpful.

I went in from the south but the ending point was amazing.

Amazing and beautiful. The lake is frozen over and most of the upper trail is snow and ice.

It was a little icy, crampons would be ideal, but we did it in hiking boots... no problem. The frozen lake looks beautiful. Saw 2 large moose near the trailhead

I made it till the lake , next summer will hike till the waterfalls. I started from trailhead at waswatch and it was steep when coming back down. It was easy going up .

Made it to the ridge and turned around. Was very windy and a a little icy and snow above red pine

Veri nice hike with beautiful views and nice trails. It took us about 2 hours from the trailhead to the Lake at the top but we were stoping very often to take photos. We even encounter a Moose grazing about 50 yards from the trail. It only gets steep about the last mile before you get to the lake but other than that I rate the trail as moderate.

Beautiful hike - not terribly difficult. Very scenic view at the top. I would love to come back here during the summer.

First hike here and I loved it! I was getting pretty tired but passing hikers/runners gave me motivation to keep going!

this was an amazing ass buster trail.

A few inches of snow so the trail to Maybird Lakes is impossible to see after the Red Pine fork. I just followed the only set of tracks and it was close to the trail.
