My kids and I did this hike a week ago and loved it. It is steep at first, but then it gets easier. This was our first hike of the year, so it was nice to start with a shorter one. My kids (ages 19, 6 and 4) get excited each week to pick a new hike to explore, but so far this was their favorite because of the waterfall.

By far one of my favorite hikes. The lake is beautiful!

Tried to hike this on Saturday but the road that takes you the last 5.5 miles is still closed. Everyone had to turn around at the gate. Will try again in a month and update.

We started this hike from Coyote Hollow Ct this past Saturday (see our track in recent Recordings). Trail all the way up through Jacob's Ladder is clear and dry. Really not muddy at all. Snow isn't prevalent until just before you get to Mount Ennis. From Mt. Ennis on, it's basically all snow fields. Warm bluebird day and post-holed a few times up to the knees, but the previous tracks helped quite a bit.

We created just the 3rd or 4th tracks up. Snowshoes not needed for this. I would definitely bring microspikes and gaiters though. We stopped about 7.5 miles in at elevation 9,800ft (a daunting 4,800ft net climb) which is where we had the best open views of the cirque. Had we started earlier than 9am, we would've continued on toward the summit.

Very easy and short. good for a quick hike

The trail was completely covered with hard pack snow all the way to lower Red Pine. It got a little soft up to the upper lakes but manageable with cleats. The accent all the way to the saddle was steep and sketchy as there were only a few tracks to help stabilize your feet. Still an absolutely beautiful day to be on the trail. All lakes are still frozen over of course but the Ridgelines look amazing under snow. Keep trekking

Beautiful.

This was a beautiful hike. My kids had fun, it was a little hard for my youngest ( she is 3). We will be doing the hike again..

The trail was very easy to find based on the directions on AllTrails. trail conditions were fantastic no snow on the trail just a little bit of wetness. there was snow around the sides of the trail but nothing that impeded the climb up. The waterfall was flowing nicely and it was a wonderful afternoon hike!

I misread this as .9 one way, so it was disappointingly short and we opted to hop down the BoSho to get some miles. However, if you have small kids or otherwise need a very short (ten minute) hike to a waterfall where they can play, this is great. Dry trail today.

I went in the morning for a nice short hike. It had beautiful views of Draper, the mountains and a nice waterfall you can walk right up to. No snow on this trail as of 2 days ago.

Easy trail, get spot to take photos at the falls

This was such a gorgeous hike. Beautiful views of the canyon and when you get to the lake it’s stunning. The bugs were pretty bad so definitely bring your bug spray.

Hiked this trail with my two kids last week, my five year old did great. this Trailhead is a little bit steeper than the Granite trail head that also leads to Bell Canyon reservoir but it was still a nice Trail. The reservoir water line is still low as of last Sunday; leaving the lower Creek bed dry, but this means you can easily hike around the reservoir without getting your feet wet. It is also not stocked for fishing yet from what I heard from other hikers.

very nice view, love how you can climb right up to the water fall. easy but fun

Great little hike, to get the kids ready for hiking season.

Awesome hike. Snow is still really deep but compacted for most of the trail. Fairly steep and can get difficult in areas.

Nice short little trail. No snow or ice on the trail as off two days ago. Well worth the trip.

Love this hike! First one for me this season, while wearing the new baby and it was the perfect intro. The snow is now
gone and my kids loved exploring in the water.

This trail becomes a dadgum bushwhack after 2 miles.

Challenging trail especially in the snow because some areas aren't very packed so you end up knee deep or more. Most people choose the Red Pine Trail over this one because it's a little shorter and a little less steep. This one is more peaceful because there were no other hikers just two skiers. I'll definitely try this one again when everything is thawed out more.

Such a beautiful hike. Nice inclines.

Steep first .4 miles. Fairly nice walk around the lake. Some snow on north facing trials. Overall a very pleasant hike.

There's a lot of snow still there and it gets slippery coming back down. But I personally didn't mind. It made more for the adventure!

Really quick hike. Starts through a neighborhood then works up to some stairs and a short climb. Right now you definitely need books if not spikes as there are some iced out steep runs. Good payoff for such a short, accessible spot.

Starts off going through a neighborhood. Went yesterday and it’s still covered in snow and slippery. The hike seemed very short though due to the rapid change of scenery. Kids lived it. Toddler did struggle with snow though.

One of the most beautiful hikes I've done. Nicely snowpacked for the majority of the trail, just used microspikes and carried snowshoes which were helpful for the top near the lake and walking around the lake which was frozen and snow covered. Completed 3/11/18.

Very steep. Went a few days ago and is currently covered in snow and some ice. This hike is basically you climbing the entire time until you reach the lake and then climbing back down. Would not recommend toddlers due to steep stairs and ice. The lake was semi frozen but still beautiful. Gave my thighs a workout for sure.

I'm sure it's great when there is no snow. There is currently tons of slippery ice and snow! We did it but it was sketchy!
