Rode this one on my bike today. The trail is dirt and wood chips, so it's not great for bikes, but since I went there at lunch at least I didn't have to deal with a lot of other people on the trail. There are three short wooden piers for fishermen - didn't see any ducks, but there were a lot of birds. One of the other people there say blackbirds come to this area twice a year, and I did see quite a few of those. The fish were also quite evident, but the beer drinkers were even more - the shallows are filled with garbage, mostly cans.
I also rode a small area in between the hospital footpath and the pond. This used to be a good little trail, but either because of spring or because of neglect, it's very overgrown. The bridges are in good repair, but that's about it. Thistles abound. Wear pants if you're going to go on the trail in the small wetlands area north of Glassman.
I have taken the kids here a few times to check out the ducks and take a quick walk. They have a youth program here that teaches kids to fish. This pond was also featured in a Standard Examiner article about Geocaching. My kids were fortunate to be part of it and participated in the hunt. Fun Place!!
This trail can get over crowded with people trying to fish. The trail is real short and part of the view to the pond in blocked by chain link fence. If you need a quick nature trip or have little kids that want to go fishing then I would suggest this trail.
