Unbelievable cactus flower displays, everywhere along the trail. Beautiful red rock canyon scenery at the end. Explore cautiously and keep an eye out for cairns. Enjoy.

Short and beautiful trail!

The road is closed 3 miles from the trailhead. Me and two buddies decided to hike in anyways, and it was tough. The road was washed out in several places pretty bad, hence the closure. We're in our early twenties and were dying just getting to the trailhead due to carrying stuff to camp for several days, which then got significantly worse once we reached the actual trail. The whole area has burned also. This made the trail extremely difficult to follow in places.By the lake there are a few spots that didn't burn, but 90% of the area has. We saw elk tracks and caught 3 brook trout in the lake, but that was about it as far as animals. We also woke up to a few inchea of snow, so we waited for it to melt and then hiked out a day earlier than planned. The whole place has a pretty creepy feeling due to the lack of insects or birds. I would give it a few years to grow back before doing it again. Just a heads up.

BLM land, drove this while looking for free camping sites on BLM land. Basically upland sparce pine forest. It offered solitude and free camping away from the crowds.

pretty easy drive you could do it in a car. there are other trails for hiking/MTB/horseback. would like to go up them next time.

Unfortunately they had snow and we drove right past this trail, we turned around to where the starting point should be and saw the empty wood sign. Im assuming they put up the trailhead names once you can hike, but we had to drive back down since there was no cell service to find something else to do.

Basic Desert view until you get to the end. Then you get the awesome view.

Easy hike with Awesome views!

Great views!!!!

Driving through this area I just had to pull over at the visitors center and check it out. I didn't plan on this detor, but I kept saying, I want to see what is just around this corner, or just around that rock for it was all so very beautiful. I ended up hiking around here for over a half hour, and I have it on my list to go back and do more of it for it was surprisingly great area. Here is my blog post if you want to see some pictures. http://shaunasadventures.blogspot.com/2018/01/?m=1

most of the trail is under snow right now. we still ventured out a mile or so before the snow got deeper and sketchier. the view was still fantastic though. definitely want to come back when the trail is clear.

nice alternative to Bryce, more rugged, dog friendly

Great short hike. Definitely moderate, not hard hike.

Beautiful Drive. We have a upgraded Toyota Tacoma and some of the spots were tight, but overall a beautiful secluded drive.

Variety of changing landscapes with lots of opportunities for photos. It's deemed one of the best scenic drives in America for a reason - don't miss it!

Alot more scrambling then we planned on. Take more water then we did take your Binoculars it has and enjoy some amazing views.

Great trail, if by "The only Redwood Tree found in Utah", you actually mean "The only creepy, abandoned, Hantavirus-infested-shack in the middle of nowhere", then yes, you will enjoy it. Especially at night.

The Whipple Trail ends in the saddle according to this? We made this trip with our one year old on my wife’s back and it was really easy. Due to lack of daylight left we only made it to the saddle but it was a nice little trek. Definitely plan to do again and go down to the valley.

Definitely wouldn't consider this hard. Just a few switchbacks right at the start then it's pretty level at the top. Great views in every direction pretty much the whole hike and it's short so why not?

Amazing and challenging continuous climb from Oak Grove Campground to the mountain ridge above. I'm not sure that this recordings moving time is correct since that was the time for the decent only. There is a marked trail the entire way but it is not for those who are not in shape.

I assume this might be ok if you don’t mind paying for more information. This basic level is much less then anyone would need in the field. It is a real problem for anyone to us this information when it is so incomplete.
Be careful

The view is amazing but the road is too bad. There are lots of big rocks on the road makes it so hard to drive on.

short trail but with lots of attention. beautiful!

Nice trail with many beautiful views I will say one thing though that is worth noting. There is a part of the trail that says "Castle Bridge" I ran into several people myself Included that were confused about what "castle bridge" was and where it was located I was expecting it to be a flat top arch or a bridge arch but it's not, it's just a big dip In a wall of rocks, there is no arch or anything like that so hopefully this may help someone in he future.

I beg to differ from the opinion that this trail is good for trail running. The trail is littered with rocks that won't bother bike tires but that are big enough that stepping inbetween them is necessary and enough of them that its exhausting to find a safe place to step. They aren't big rocks that can be stepped on, they are small enough to roll an ankle if you step on them (hope that makes sense). I'm a trail runner and managed the patience to make it 3 miles up from the south before losing patience and turning around for 3 miles back down. A great BIKING or HIKING experience for sure!

Great hike for the whole family. Uphill to a beautiful lake, and wonderful fall colors. The road to the trailhead is a little rough, but did not require 4WD. Definitely worth it.
