The trail was just gorgeous. This is truly one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done. We were able to do it in the late afternoon and finish right before it got dark. The sunset was stunning. I will say that I clocked 9 miles rather than 8 miles in my Garmin Fénix 5x.

Great hike! We only did about two miles in on the Little Wild Horse Canyon side - we'll have to come back to do more of it!

Very pretty hike through slot canyons. Several technical areas. We hiked it with my 2 year old, which ended up okay but I probably would not do it with her again. Also, definitely download the map for this hike before hand to avoid any scary moments later.

HikingGreat!

It was an absolutely incredible hike. The slot canyons were the best ones I have ever hiked. There was a lot of scrambling but it was all doable even for this older guy. We didn’t do the complete loop because I wanted to go back and hike the slot canyons again. I will do this one again some day.

Excellent trail. Super easy to get a nice quick pace going while still enjoying the sweeping scenes.

Started hike from TH as found on Google Maps. Dirt road to TH was fine in compact SUV -- didn't need 4x4. There were 2 short rope sections although some of the rope was starting to fray. Only one rope section was challenging for my hiking buddy who had no prior climbing experience. The wall surface was smooth and no obvious footholds for getting down but she was able to do it with my coaching (I have climbing experience). So it's not so much a physical strength challenge as it is a technical know-how challenge. Experience also gives you confidence -- she also wasn't sure she'd be able to get back up either but that turned out to be no problem. Did not need any help from me. We met one solo hiker who had turned back because of the drop-off. Not sure if they had done the prior research before heading out there. Even if you don't do the whole hike, you can still see some portion of the canyon. On the way back, there were several dirt road and wash options to follow so we almost overshot the TH parking lot and would have missed it if it were not for the AllTrails Pro tracking.

November 8. Long walk. Flat, but loose (sand, gravel) makes it a work out. Awesome rock formations

The beginning of this hike IS DIFFICULT. Once you get past it, it was moderate, along with some narrow places.

It was what I was hoping for. Slot canyon, some rock scrambling but nothing technical. Well marked trailhead and signs. Views to die for!

Really cool canyon on the little wild horse side, Bell isn’t as cool but still neat.

overall fun hike. took me 2.5 hours for the full loop, mind you I'm a pretty fast hiker/walker, and that was without any breaks. went clockwise ending with little wild horse. bell canyon is definitely pretty unimpressive as others have said, but I was curious and wanted to see it for myself. next time I come back I'll just do little wild horse, out and back. only 2 cars at the trailhead at 9:30 am, didn't start seeing anyone until the last few miles. it was a little eerie going through bell canyon by myself but I put some music on and that took the edge off. not many slot canyons in bell, very small slot area. if you start with bell you'll have some incline, including minor climbing up boulders. not hard but I feel like going through little wild horse first would be a bit easier. got to the car a few mins after noon.

Approached from the south. Parked by the downed cottonwood trees. Stayed in the wash most of the time for 1.9 miles and turned back. Wasn’t up to a 10 mile day. On the way back, found several paths and trimmed 1/3 of the mileage and 1/2 the time off the return back to the truck.

Awesome little hike! Definitely go early AM to avoid the heat, especially with a dog. I got started around 7:30 AM in mid-October and was totally fine. You can follow the cairns pretty easily most of the way up, but we did lose them at one point. As long as you head in the general direction of the window, you’ll have no problem finding it, just may have to do some back and forth to determine the best route. Took me a little over an hour with lots of photos stops. Overall, nice little hike to a neat place!

Both Ding and Dang slot canyons and Bell/ Little Wild Horse are listed as moderate, but they couldn't be more different. Little Wild Horse/ Bell is extremely easy with no stemming needed. Ding and Dang, on the other hand require a lot more canyoneering skills (stemming, repelling from fixed rope, gloves, etc). Super crowded on weekends. If it were me, on the weekdays, I'd start on bell and finish in little wild horse bc LWH is awesome and a great way to end. However, if you're going on a weekend, I would go extremely early and start w LWH so you can avoid the COVID19 crowds. Descent from bell canyon gives plenty of space when there's a lot of people. Great hike!
