Glad I had a 4 wheel drive to navigate the road. Great hike for me and my dog.

It is a multi use trail with a high amount of ATV and some horse usage.

Well THAT was exciting! It's true, you don't NEED 4-wheel drive to make it here when the road is dry, but it wouldn't hurt. Definately a risk of getting stuck in vehicles with low clearance, but well worth the effort if you're up for the adventure. If you have the option to take a vehicle with good clearance, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

love this trail and will definitely go again next time!

Wonderful trail, starts of slow, gets a little steep. Extremely Rocky as well. Recommend this trail for Novice hikers.

Nice hike. I did the extended hike to Sawmill Springs and stayed the night there. I went in the summer months when the water was just seeping our of the spring. Needless to say I spent a lot of time boiling water.
Very secluded area,I did not see anyone else past the white domes.
It was definitely an island in the sky.

it's great for the next level of riders. Easy to moderate however you have the choice to make it harder for sure!

From the trailhead it was an 7 mile out and back. We reached the trailhead via a rocky steep gravel/sand/mud track which was pot holed and rocky. It lead from Rockville over an old Parker Bridge. The trail was sandy and rocky but well marked (don't confuse the trail with a dry wash which runs alongside and crosses the trail at times) being a desert of juniper and pine with flowering cacti. We saw black-chinned hummingbirds feeding on the flowering cacti. Looking north from our destination underneath eagle crag was a stunning view of Zion and its canyons.

Really fun mtn biking trail. Second favorite after guacamole. Definitely harder than guacamole. Had to get off my bike about 50+ times! But fun ride and super cool rock features to ride on

Really nice trail, beautiful views, easy to follow, some sandy some rocky sections. Fairly shaded which is nice for the dogs. About half way through after a good climb the trail starts to head slightly down and cuts along the side hill. There’s one section where it almost looks like the trail ends but step over the down tree and look for a Carin, continue in the same direction as before. This section is exposed to the sun and less well worn, but still decent to follow. I turned around after about a mile following it because it was getting to be too hot for the dogs. Beautiful views, worth doing. Road to get there was a little bumpy and steep at the beginning but no need for 4 wheel. Nice parking lot and map at the trailhead.

Went on a one-nighter trip with close friends! Found a great spot to set up camp and we had fun exploring around all the rocks and looking out at the great view on the cliffs and to our north we could see Zion! Beautiful hike!

The trail is great. Getting there and back in my Ford Fiesta was an adventure that I will not repeat. There are a lot of good trails around here that don’t require a high profile vehicle. If you are determined to get there then have a go but be careful.

Great trail. We hiked it to climb the towers on top of the ridge. Amazing views and fairly moderate. Made it to the trailhead with my low-clearance passenger car.

We didn't actually get to the trailhead. The road got worse and worse, and we ended up turning back. A high clearance vehicle would probably work. Giving in 3 stars for the awesome view of Zion on the way up to the trailhead.

I hiked this trail in mid December and it was perfect weather outside. Although this trail is measured at 5.9mi, my gps mapped it at 8.64. Its not marked well towards the end. I think that the windmill trail is supposed to be an out and back. It seemed like if you follow this routing it takes you through the bowls and ledges trail as well. However, it was quite nice. If you park at the first parking lot instead of the windmill trailhead, this loop will take you right to it. There are some absolutely beautiful views of the rim. Also, i'm not really sure why this is rated as moderate, unless its just for the distance. I would rate this on the higher end of easy because there isn't much elevation gain and the tail is very well kept. Its perfect for taking a dog out. All in al, not bad and definitely beautiful views. ENJOY!

Great off the beaten path trail and you can bring your pup!

This is a great hike to go on, if you do go try and stay in the center of the trail. I almost got bit by a rattlesnake that was right next to the trail, but other than that it was magnificent.

Really enjoyed this hike. Beautiful trail and gentle up hills not too strenuous. Great vistas along the way and at the top.

Amazing scenery! If you're a mountain biker then you already know that Gooseberry is internationally famous ... but it's underrated as a hiking trail in my opinion! If you're looking for a scenery-filled, mild terrain nature walk smattered with petrified wood, fossils, and blooming cacti showcasing flowers of all colors then do it! It's unique to anything you'll hike in northern Utah. But BE CAREFUL for rattlesnakes!! About a mile down the dirt road from the White trailhead we encountered a Navajo Green Rattlesnake (took the attached picture from inside our SUV thank goodness) which is the most toxic pit viper in North America! And it was mean as hell and was fully poised to attack our GMC Terrain! Incredibly rare experience but possible!

Great trail, relatively flat which is a difficult thing to find out in Utah. The trail has a very nice flow and rhythm to it and the trail has a fair amount of wildlife on it. Biking on this trail is great for any rider difficulty and has a little bit of many terrain surfaces such as rock, dirt and some loose sand. I highly recommend this trail to anybody who wants a good time.

The gooseberry trails are mostly for mountain biking .... it can be dangerous to be a pedestrian in these trails on busy weekends. During the winter it's nice and you will practically have it to yourself on week days.
