Loved this. Went straight up the stream and made our own way instead of being on the path. Didn’t wear water shoes, feet got soaked but the water felt good in these very hot temps in late May. Brought our small dog and she loved it. Water is freezing but keeps dog from overheating so it’s very nice to have nearby even if not on stream. We found some cool hidden gem spots of little beach areas. Plenty of shade. Would definitely return here. Awesome spot

So many bugs and no way to get rid of them. Awesome view about halfway up!

Not sure where the All Trails line ends/goes, but I did this as a loop hike up Squirrel, headed west a couple miles to White Domes and further west another 0.75 miles maybe to some other cool red rock formations, then came back down water canyon. The descent down Water gets a tad interesting when you detour around the drop off. I rated this 5 stars for the rocks formations at the top and the view north to Zion, but the ascent up Squirrel was pretty boring. Also, walking in sand sucks, especially uphill.

Cool trail!! Definitely bring enough water. A little bit of shade but lots of sun exposure as well. Great mix of desert and trees. Highly recommend this!

So happy I did (and finished) this trail, it is so beautiful! It is closer to 8.5 miles and the trail is pretty difficult to find for the last 2ish miles to White Dome. Wouldn’t have done it without downloading the trail map on AllTrails or Gaia. Also, use grippy shoes as you are climbing up steep rock at the end.

Phenomenal views of Zion from the south and Canaan Wilderness to the east near the end of trail. No definitive end of trail just becomes impassable. I was hoping to get up close and personal with the crags you progress toward the whole hike but never did. Guess we have to leave that for the eagles! Strenuous yes. Rugged trail with lots of small rocks so have to watch every step or you will roll your ankles without good boots. I was in tennis shoes gawking at the views while searching for my next photo treasure!!! Enjoyed the various desert wildflowers and trees along the way. Would do it again for the awe element. I did this mid day in 85 degrees full sun and drank 1.5 liters.

One of my favorite hikes and we plan to go back for some backpacking. Gaining altitude was a challenge, and the trail dissipates at times, but it is generally findable. Definitely worth doing the whole thing, which is actually approximately 8 miles! I downloaded the map and kept checking our GPS location, so know we did not stray from it.

Trailhead is actually a lil farther up the road than Apple Maps took me to. Super scenic hike trail was rocky but not too technical. The last bit as u really get into the crags it becomes fairly steep and bouldery so it becomes more like a scramble.

Gorgeous hike, easy to the waterfall, good climb and many drop offs at until top rock, and gorgeous scenary past that. The trail does disappear past top rock. Head north west and hug the stream you'll quickly run into. The stream will join up with the main river (that creates the waterfall) at which point you should hug the main river (going upsteam). This won't always be possible, in which cases try to stay close and just climb up on the rock on the side. Once you get pretty far up river there's a fork (sand bed to the right and main river to the left). Go to the right and it's a straight shot to the white domes. No clue where the actual trail was. I followed this advice while trying to minimize stepping on non rock and got there in 4.5 hrs (lots of meandering bc we didn't know exactly where to go). 2 hours coming back (got lost here was well some). I would recommend a detailed map and compass if possible for this one. Easy to get very lost.

2 days ago. Any vehicle can get to Gooseberry Mesa as round has been graded then next mile is rougher and I recommend a high clearance vehicle to south rim trail but could walk or bike. Lots off of grid camping along the way. Mostly level hike to gorge well marked with white ground markers. Did about 2 miles in and back.

The first 1.6 miles was in the direct sun and also in sand. Once you make the left and get off of the off-road vehicle trail, it gets much more enjoyable. Only did 6 miles today.

This trail has you start at the Gooseberry Mesa parking lot and walk down the road to the White Tfail parking lot. Next time I will just park at the actual trailhead, at the White Trailhead. Once on the tral, the views were spectacular! I loved every minute of this hike. There were a lot of mountain bikers, as usual but plenty of room for all of us.

I did this to complete the loop from Water Canyon and really enjoyed it. After ascending Water Canyon I didn't fancy going down the same way with all the ice and snow and so going down Squirrel Canyon was a perfect alternative. It also had the added bonus of additional great views, particularly of the Beehive. The last couple miles are a bit dull, as other reviewers have noted, but well worth it to make a loop. I didn't do much side exploration as I was worried about running out of daylight but in retrospect had plenty of time - total loop was less than six hours despite snow and ice slowing me down.

this is a medium difficulty trail, not really that hard. nice views throughout the hike, anti climactic end. Was nice and cool for the dog early in the morning.

Although the hike itself was moderate the trail was rugged, lots of loose rocks and or sand which made the going more difficult so I think that is why the trail was labeled hard. Beautiful wilderness trail, expansive and panoramic views of Zion. I only saw a couple hikers and it was a Saturday.
