I love Tamarack . Easy trail.

Great hike to the lake. A little rocky and wet but not bad. Got a small blow up out on Tamarack well worth it!

We just got off the trail today. Ton of downed trees blocking the trail in places. This trail is rated moderate and I agree with it. It's deceiving because you alway think you have reached the top but disappointed that you still have a ways to go. Just FYI, the mileage that is posted with this trail is for round lake. If you are going to Fish Lake it is 4.5 miles. All the fish in the lake were so small that we had very poor luck. We were using spinners which was obviously a bad choice for these lakes. Dry fly fishing in the morning and evening would have been a much better choice.

This is a good trail! There is a lot rocks, so make sure you have something with good ankle support. The upper creeks are blown out due to snow melt, so the crossing are a bit sketchy. Overall a very good hike that gives you a good workout!

I love Tepee Lake !!! The hike isn't that bad .I am out of shape and I made it. I caught some great Brooke trout . I hiked in June. Great time !!! The trail is a bit rough to follow in spots .

We went on the trail late June and it was quite wet, with most the trail being a water flow. It was however a beautiful hike and worth it. Bring snacks, we forgot ours.

I was not too impressed. i was trying to do an overnighter up to red lake. I made it to Teepee Lake with no problem and decided to push on to Red Lake. About a mile past Teepee the trail just disappears. Camped out in the only suitable spot I could find, glad I had a bivy. From about Teepee to where ever I made it to the mosquitoes were ridiculous and I probably now have Zika virus. If you are looking just to get away from people I recommend. If you are looking for cool views situated alongside high mountain lakes don't waste your time. Although I never made it to Red Lake so who knows. Good Luck.

I only know this trail from Five Point Lake to the trail-head. This was the last leg of the 4 day loop that started going the the Timothy Lakes Basin, Then to Northstar/Tungston Lakes area then to Five Point Lake. Hiking down was fast and easy because the trail was so good. This was 30 years ago so I don't know if the trail has changed since then. There are many short day hikes to quite a few lakes in the area so spend some time exploring the many lakes.

I have hiked this trail to Tamarack and Jessen many times. It's quite easy just to those lakes. 2013 I hiked this trail to Burnt Forks Lake, it was pretty easy until the pass at the end of Tamarack Lake, it's tough. from there its pretty easy to Fish Lake. Climbing from Fish Lake to Burnt Fork is medium.

Hiked up to Joan and Gem Lakes from Echo lake met some hikers that came over Murdock Mountain and didn't know that it was much closer from Echo. Years ago the road was good enough to get to Echo Lake fairly easily. There are golden trough in the lake now

Hiked this with my son on the way to a night at Fish Lake.

We turned our Joan Lake hike into a loop that started at Pyramid, then Echo, Joan, Gem and back to Echo. It was a great hike. Once into the wilderness and away from the dirt road it was a beautiful and solitary place. Peaceful with a lot of wild life living in the area. Great views above Echo and good fishing at the lakes. I did this one on horseback. Wonderful scenery. One location enabled us to see into Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and of course Utah, from the same point. We rode from Hwy 191 at McKee Draw to the Summit of Leidy Peak. We spent six days covering the distance.

Lots to see and do. I've seen Moose, Elk, Deer, Bear and Bobcats on the Loop. Plenty of fishing. Watch for logging trucks. Great places to hike, picnic, fish and hunt.

Did this one back in 1967. Then the trail was hard to follow and we spent a lot of time of trail. Wonderful country though. Hopefully, the trail is much improved.

Did this one horseback. We rode from Hwy 191 at McKee Draw to East Park the along the Highline Trail to the Summit of Leidy Peak. We made a week of it and had a fantastic time. The trail goes on across the Uintas to Mirror Lake. I'd like to the rest one day!
