It is mostly just a dirt road with not much shade. Easy hike.

Easy going. Gets kinda pretty and interesting around 1 hr in, but otherwise just typical gravel roads and scrubby Texas trees. Water crossings were very low or non existent. No one was wearing masks in the park in general.

A mostly high maintained trail for campers hiking in and equine traffic. Pretty simple trail with a spring and secret lagoon.

Saw a fox cross on the path in front of us but aside from that, there wasn’t much to see. Creeks were all dried up and there were no overlooks. Very easy hike/walk. (3.7.20)

Dog-friendly. Wide trail (mostly gravel roads). Rivers and swimming areas mostly dried out (Feb 1 - 2020).

Much of the trail is a dirt road, but once you get a little south of Jones Spring the trail turns into a scenic, wooded and more challenging path. When you first approach the Primitive Camping area, take the path into it. It will also eventually turn into a heavily wooded path that eventually comes back out on Wolf Mountain Trail shortly before Tobacco Creek. That detour is more scenic, with great views of the ravine below the Primitive Camping area bluffs

Great trail for a long hike. Most of it was fairly wide with the area by Jones Springs being more ‘trail-like.’ Great views of the area. Went on a Saturday and only saw a handful of other hikers. Great for dogs too.

Fairly easy, wide trail. Not a lot of shade. Our November hike meant most of the creek and riverbed were dry. Nice way to spend a few hours.

Trail was nice, but it’s an improved trail. I guess if you are into walking down dirt roads with a little bit of scenery just off the path then it was great. We are more into actual trails though. The back portion down by jones spring was the best as you’re really walking through the woods.

A fun beautiful hike though the beginning and end are a bit of a bore. The markers seem weirdly placed. I got turned around fairly easily, though that may not be the signs fault.

Pretty decent trail with some cool views here and there of the hill country. Worth checking out, but I wouldn’t call it moderate

The trail was easy to follow since it’s basically an old Jeep trail. More like a long nature walk than a hike since it felt like a road rather than a trail

This is a bit more than 9 miles, combining Wolf Mountain and Juniper Ridge. This was my first time on Juniper Ridge. I really enjoyed it --- mostly shaded with occasional views between the trees. I look forward to hiking it in the spring when there should be many small waterfalls over the rock. Today was blistering hot --- go early!

Bring plenty of water in the summer! Not a lot of shaded areas.

Tough trail in the middle of summer heat. Bring plenty of water. The section off the parking doesn’t have too much shade. So the beginning is fine but the end it’s pretty sunny. It’s also longer than the map says in total. The reason I chose this trail was for Jones Spring. It was really low though so it wasn’t what I hoped for. Other than that it’s great exercise!

Rode our mountain bikes here in July. Hit it early in the morning to be done by 9 and it wasn't bad temperature-wise because of the shade. Madrone was a fun, flowy trail. Juniper Ridge needs a chainsaw. We turned off when given a chance. For some reason, Texas likes to increase the difficulty level of its trails by leaving trees in annoying places. It would be better to just add some berms and make it fun. Juniper Ridge is not designed for bigger tires and larger handlebars. It could have been a fun ride, but anytime you hit a slightly technical rock drop, there would be a tree in the wrong place to hit the line right. Needs some work. Looks like a nice hike, but very few views.

This trail was pretty challenging. Long stretches without shade and the horse fly’s follow the entire time. However, along the way there are several creeks that you can stop at and refresh. Definitely a life saver when there’s little shade. I hiked all the way to Joan’s spring and was a little disappointed. It was a pretty far and challenging hike for what you get to. However, there are some hidden gems and decent views along the way! I would not recommend this hike for beginners or people who enjoy leisurely , scenic hikes.I was happy to push myself and finish!!

Nice clear trail for days when its not too hot. There's very little tree cover, so we cooked in June. Pretty wild flowers and a creek
